The first U.S. Abrams tanks pledged to Ukraine have arrived in the country and are being prepared to send into battle, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced Monday.
“Good news from Defense Minister [Rustem] Umerov. Abrams are already in Ukraine and are preparing to reinforce our brigades. I am grateful to our allies for fulfilling the agreements!” Zelensky wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Zelensky added that Ukraine is “looking for new contracts and expanding the geography of supply.”
The Pentagon confirmed the tanks arrived in Ukraine, with a spokesperson saying “the mere presence of Abrams tanks serves as a potent deterrent.”
“By having these tanks in their arsenal, the Ukrainian army can more effectively discourage aggressive actions,” the Defense Department spokesperson told The Hill. “We will continue to focus on what we can do to help Ukraine succeed on the battlefield and protect its people.”

This is more high tech, expensive US MIC stuff which will be junk in the hands of the Ukes.
Abrams consume immense amounts of fuel and need a lot of support. They will drive to the front one time, where the will become stationary artillery for the Ukes, until the Russians find them and destroy them.
Another step towards the US involvement in this war.

The USA could deliver a brand new M-1 gift wrapped to Red Square and the Russians would not be able to copy it.
The Russians can’t even deliver a single T-14 to their troops. They’re not going to be able to do much with an advanced M-1 besides just sell it to China and hope they can reverse engineer it.
It will take longer for the AFU to get them forward that it will for the RF to burn them. So Lee’s than 4 weeks for the photos of a destroyed Abrams is my bet.
The Iraqi Army had Abrams tanks. Isis beat them with Toyotas.

Turns out what is a good deterrent is a US Army armored division.
Not a good tank in the hands of a 3rd world military.
Absent dismounted infantry, air cover, skilled crews and GOOD tank platoon tactics, they are just BIG targets.
The US had something like one or two M1 hull losses to enemy fire in the entire Desert Storm campaign. IIRC
This will put a smear on the reputation of a great tank.
If the Russians get one they will share it with their allies. Iran will love it—so will kim. But will Americans drive them?

You Russians want us to believe that Ukraine is supposed to roll into battle and not suffer any losses. It’s pathetic.
