Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) took a shot at former President Donald Trump and criticized him for his lack of “leadership” during his Wednesday announcement that he is not seeking reelection in 2024.

Romney criticized Trump for calling “global warming a hoax” in a video statement he released. Romney also said, “neither President Biden nor former President Trump are leading their party to confront” the “critical challenges” facing the country like the “mounting national debt, climate change, and the ambitious authoritarians of Russia and China.”

I would have actually made him SOS (couldn’t have been worse than Tillerson) and then fired him the day after the Utah Senate filing deadline.

Despite all the criticism of Trump's New York Style and his choices to head government agencies and cabinets, Trump was a success. Let's go down the Trump memory hole and review the Obama/Biden/Hillary impediments and Trump's successes.

To begin with there was the Hillary inspired Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax that was known to and thereby approved by the Obama/Biden Administration. Think about that, a previous POTUS purposely set out to obstruct an incoming administration. That has never happened in American history. This was unimaginable just 8 years ago.

Was Trump wrong March 2017, when he accused the Obama/Biden Administration of spying on him? No he was not, but who believed him? He was not being outrageous or narcissistic. Trump was accurate and told the truth. Do you give him credit for that? Don't forget Governor DeSantis was then Congressman DeSantis. What did Congressman DeSantis do about all that Hillary/Obama crap from 2012 thru 2018? FYI, DeSantis chaired the Subcommittee on National Security (Remember the illegal unsecured home server while she was Secretary of State?) and served on the Foreign Affairs (Hello Benghazi!) and Judiciary Committees (the deletion of 30,000 emails).

Then there were the two Impeachments 1 and 2 and finally the Special Prosecutor Investigation. Impeachment 2 - Trump gets impeached for one phone call with Zelenskyy while Biden's Crime Family made millions off of Ukraine's corrupt company Burisma. Simply unbelievable!

Despite the despicable, malicious, and bullying behavior by Obama, Biden and Hillary and the very anemic RINO(Romney) response, which recent POTUS was as successful as Trump?

Here is a shortlist of Trump's accomplishments in the 4 years that were positives for the majority of if not ALL Americans:

The gas price per gallon was about $2.30 vs $3.80 under Biden (This is a cost increase of $30/20 gal refill for each American).

Inflation was about 1.4%, mortgage rates were half of what they are now.
Unemployment was low before Covid and before Blue Governors shut everything down and we were in the midst of a V-shaped recovery until January 22, 2021.

Tax decrease - tax laws promoted small businesses as well as large.

US enjoyed energy independence - No Green Agenda, no war on energy, No Paris Treaty.

No war in Ukraine, no threat of nuclear war, NATO paid its way.

China was quiet and we were winning the trade war.

US companies were bringing home well paying jobs due to well executed tax treatments.

There was peace in the Middle East, aka Abraham Accords; the US Embassy moved to Jerusalem; and Iran was isolated. Remember Trump's audacious assassination of Iran's Qassem Soleimani?

https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/trump-s-assassination-iran-s-qassem-soleimani-was-smart-thing-ncna1111586

How about Trump destroying Isis in just a matter on months?
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/heres-how-much-ground-isis-has-lost-since-trump-took-over

Trump handled Syria and Russia elegantly and successfully.
https://apnews.com/article/fee4d978f1ca42aaa891a59c5307a261

Trump got three non-left “I don't know what a woman is” Supreme Court Justices on the bench allowing Roe vs Wade to be overturned.

Trump had an excellent Economic Team and the US enjoyed a AAA+ rating that Biden's Team destroyed in 2+ years:

https://time.com/4440711/donald-trump-economic-advisors/

They were brilliant! And do not forget Wilbur Ross.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabinet_of_Donald_Trump

Funny how Russia was quiet during the Trump Administration. There was no Russian invasion of Ukraine until Biden took over. Why was that?

I hope you remember this:
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-nuclear-summit-obama-medvedev-idUSBRE82P0JI20120326

This was a very memorable and strategic event early into Trump's Administration:
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/apr/12/trump-xi-jinping-chocolate-cake-syria-strikes

The above is why Putin behaved himself during the Trump Administration. Putin invaded the Ukraine under Biden just like he did under Obama when he claimed Crimea.

Who the heck can accomplish the above in four years while being impeached twice and investigated by the Obama/Biden Weaponized Agencies?

Trump received 11 million more votes in 2020 over 2016. Never has a sitting President lost when receiving more votes in his reelection bid. Trump increased his vote total by 17+%. Trump can claim victory in 17 of the 18 bellwether counties but still “lost” according to the Dems/MSM?

Do you really believe that Bumbling Biden received 15 million more votes than Hillary? That is an amazing and unbelievable 23% increase in votes for Bumbling Biden than Hillary. The election was blatantly in your face stolen.

Face it, Trump did one hell of a job! Compare Trump's job to that of Biden's. Attack Biden instead! People are suffering under Biden and all I witness are attacks on Trump.

Don’t be shocked to see Romney run as a 3rd party candidate for president, his goal will be to get enough votes to keep Trump from winning.

*******************

Apparently, in Romney’s new biography he considered running 3rd Party, but came to the conclusion that he’d siphon more votes from Biden and help Trump get elected.

In the end you may be right though, he’s still talking to Manchin about putting something together, and he’s a politician. Also, Romney said he wants to focus on blocking Trump.

I think RFK Jr. Is taking about running as a 3rd party candidate given how the DNC has implemented rules that make it impossible for him to win as a Democrat, if he runs that will take votes from Biden, personally I would like to see 3 or 4 major candidates run for POTUS instead of the same two party candidates we get now

What a horrible man. To do that to deny the possible majority of voters their choice is un-American and pure evil.

I believe that Mitt Romney thinks he is the Mormon President predicted in LDS theology, so his running for President on a third party ticket would not be surprising. I could see him teaming up with Joe Manchin, who will have difficulty getting re-elected given West Virginia's turn to the GOP. Possibly Kristen Sinema, who is not popular with Arizona Democrats and younger than Romney.

For any Republican including Trump to win the Presidency, they must win a handful of states that usually have very close outcomes.

Georgia, Arizona, North Carolina, Nevada, sometimes Florida, and a few others.

If Romney were to run as a 3rd party candidate, could he get 2-4% of the vote in those states to keep Trump from winning them, it’s entirely possible and no Republican can win under those conditions.

What? How well does Trump know the Constitution? I’m guessing a little bit better than Biden or Michelle.

That could be part of his reason for running as a 3rd party economy, personally I think the reason he would run is he’s a-hole, looking to ensure Trump can’t win.

If RFK Jr. runs as a 3rd party, he will pull votes from Biden, making Trump winning more likely, then it’s almost a certainty Romney would jump in to pull votes from Trump.

And that is why Utahns hate him. In order to run for Senate he was told by the Elders to promise the Republican voters that he would not run against Trump, whom they liked, and that he would not undermine him in order for them to trust him to vote for him. First thing he did once in the Senate was trash Trump and he only got worse from there. Utahns don’t just dislike Romney they feel very, very betrayed by him. They consider him evil.

So, how can we keep Mitt off the ballot? He son is involved in Burisma, maybe it’s time to start focusing on that.

Think about what you just said, how can we keep Mitt of the ballot, the answer is it’s impossible to do that.

However, are you okay with Democrats trying to use the 14th amendment to keep Trump off ballots, I’m not okay with that, just like as much as I dislike Romney, I couldn’t support an organized effort to keep him off the ballot.

Mitts possible run is part of a group effort to deny the voters and Trump the ability to fairly run in 2024 and these same people were likely involved in 2020 and for undermining Trumps term as Pres. Romney has dirt on him that can be used to counter his effort to once again deny the Anerican people the choice thet may want. I don’t think now is the time to be self righteous. Game on.

He has worked for the DNC fir decades, its called the uniparty.

Mitt is a perfect example of why the 17th Amendment needs to be repealed via a Convention of States.

Our Founding Father’s were not stupid

Romney running as a 3rd party will not affect anyone’s ability to vote for the candidate of their choice. It could affect people’s desired outcome, which is a different issue.

Trump will be on the ballot, and anyone can vote for him, as much as we don’t like it, what Romney might be going to do is not illegal, as you say game on.

Running for POTUS should not be easy,
