Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) took a shot at former President Donald Trump and criticized him for his lack of “leadership” during his Wednesday announcement that he is not seeking reelection in 2024.
Romney criticized Trump for calling “global warming a hoax” in a video statement he released. Romney also said, “neither President Biden nor former President Trump are leading their party to confront” the “critical challenges” facing the country like the “mounting national debt, climate change, and the ambitious authoritarians of Russia and China.”

And to think I voted for this putz once upon a time
Same here but like with McLame, what choice did we have?
That guy is so obsessed with PDJT that it is pathological. Does he not have family or staff that will tell him to shut up because every time, and it is pretty often, that he bashes Trump he’s announcing to the world what a jealous and bitter nut he really is.
No one cares what Mitt Romney thinks. Persona non grata. Glad he’s leaving.
I just wish he’d take that fish-lipped Niece with him!!!!

Another guy that has a Trump obsession is Christie. He’s “popping off” about stalking the 45th President with his “tough guy” schtick, all around the country.
Seems like a stupid strategy, but could be somewhat entertaining.
No one cares what you think, Mutt.
I was thinking the same. Christie sounds nuttier by the day.
Now he’ll have more time to clean the skid marks on his magic underwear collection.
.@MittRomney has announced he is running for the Senate from the wonderful State of Utah. He will make a great Senator and worthy successor to @OrrinHatch, and has my full support and endorsement!

He deserves that ride on the roof:
Well bye. Where is that meme?
Everr since Donald Trump refused to appoint Romney to any cabinet position in 2016, Romney has a hate on for President Trump. Trump met with Romney and interviewed him, and then turned him down.
Romney is a psychopomp. He needs to simply disappear into the dust bin of history.
I think Romney is right about Trump. A second term with Trump could be disastrous for America. It could be worse if Biden wins again. However, where Romney and I disagree is on whether it should be up to the voters -> Electoral College -> process in Congress to decide whether Trump gets a chance or them disqualifying Trump before he was convicted of any crimes.
It makes some Trump supporters angry when I say this. But what has Trump done to prove that he’s going to handle things differently?
1. National Debt skyrocketed under Trump in his first term. He had plenty of opportunity to bring this disaster under control, but he failed.
2. He had a frequent revolving door of close aides in his administration & he’s had this professionally where a lot of really good people left very quickly/suddenly, and a lot of scoundrels ended up being booted out. How did such scoundrels get into his inner circle in the first place?
3. It’s important to note that campaign promises and anything else that a future office holder says is secondary to that moment when they stand before Congress and face to face with the Chief Justice to take the Oath of Office where they spell out their Top Priority for their service in their term of office. What they say about the Constitution and how they’ll execute their duties is of paramount importance. How well does Trump know the Constitution? How willing is he to abide by it? For so long we’ve had people overstep its boundaries to satisfy their power hungry whims.
Don’t be shocked to see Romney run as a 3rd party candidate for president, his goal will be to get enough votes to keep Trump from winning.
States like Arizona, Utah, Nevada and may a couple other states in the Western States
All he needs to do is get 2-4% of the votes in certain states and that would make Trump’s chances of winning almost zero
Lack of leadership? What a corrupt lying poor excuse of a man.
What was disastrous was Romney mailing it in against Obama in 2012.
Mittens is still seething that Trump won.
He’s not fit to shine Trump’s shoes.
