The Biden administration is likely to send Ukraine long-range Army Tactical Missile Systems, or ATACMS, to help in its fight to repel the Russian invasion of its territory, according to U.S. officials.
"They are coming," said one official who had access to security assistance plans. The official noted that, as always, such plans are subject to change until officially announced.
A second official said the missiles are "on the table" and likely to be included in an upcoming security assistance package, adding that a final decision has not been made. It could be months before Ukraine receives the missiles, according to the official.
With a range of up to 190 miles, depending on the version, deploying ATACMS could allow Ukraine to reach targets nearly four times further away than with the currently-provided rockets for its U.S.-made High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems and M270 multiple-launch rocket systems.

Amen, Brother. My sentiments exactly.
A big war would help Biden (or whoever they run next year). For the Biden gang, peace is only good if they can use it politically.
Are these from older stock, or are they fresh off the factory line, and from our own current inventory? Depleting our own inventory of military weapons to send anything to corrupt Ukraine to fight yet another proxy war with Russia is utterly ridiculous.
Ron DeSantis can go to Ukraine and give his lawyerly advice on how not to offended our enemies on the battlefield, like he did in Iraq. That's all his job there amounted to.
btt
Kerch Bridge.
Airfields in Crimea.
Black Sea ports and fleet (what’s left of it having been pulled back, but still capable of hitting Ukie cities.)
Also the rail lines and certain road bridges in occupied SE Ukraine (logistics disruption).
There are way more of these targets than ATACMS* that hit the targets, as some will be shot down, and US did not build a big inventory, as the PrSM (better replacement) deliveries have already begun. I suppose a rough guess would be that in the present environment the US might be willing to send 1 ATACM for every 2 PrSM’s received into US stocks.
*Caveat: Are there other NATO countries’ missiles that will fire from the ATACMS launch pod? Ditto for adaptable South Korean missiles?
The drones you refer to are small, not supplied by NATO, and likely smuggled into Russia and launched there by subversive elements. (Gangsters who’d like to replace the present gangsters, in some cases? P.O.’d ex Wagner?)
Ukraine could certainly launch HIMARS at logistics and other targets across the border from NE Ukraine, but has refrained from doing so.
Yeah, that too.
At the time of that report we had not even delivered that many HIMARS. In fact, I’m not sure we have now - best info. seems to be maybe 24, 20 almost certainly. Yet confirmed HIMARS strikes show up on YouTube almost daily, confirmed by Russian positioning of most of their logistics out of HIMARS’ range (but of course not ALL the supplies, trucks, storage, etc, can be so far back.)
There are also on YouTube confirmed hits on Russian air defense units. Best guess is that Russia has achieved partial success against HIMARS strikes. I’ll bet they can’t defend time-on-target very well.
Basically, Russian supplied info. can be heavily discounted. Ukie info. is often initially incorrect too, but they usually correct it eventually. Of recent note is that Romania now says they found Russian drone fragments pretty much where the Ukies indicated, after Romania had “categorically denied” that. I’d guess the guidance was jammed. The location is in a spot (fields) where the river bends into Ukraine, so the likelyhood of such an event when targets are just across the river is really quite high. I’m surprised it hasn’t happened sooner.
SCALP & Stormshadow are shorter range, but, still, yes, those “can” hit some targets in Russia. In the case of Stormshadow, the UK doesn’t have a whole lot of them.
Have SCALPS actually been delivered by France?
Germany’s TAURUS is also in the mix, but, that’s probably also a limited supply and some months away?
I’ve not read much from the Scandinavian countries, but they certainly have the tech.
True. Compared to the USSR post 1960, it's devolved.
Take out and keep down the Kerch Bridge and the rail lines and a few roads (bridges) running through occupied SE Ukraine to Crimea (much easier) and Pooty has a big, big logistics headache. Look at the transportation network (road and rail maps). ~100 ATACMS would suffice. Need enough pods to launch a time-on-target attack on Kerch — maybe 6 and a couple spares?
Go for it.
US bombing of North Vietnam proves one hundred bombs will end the war.
The biggest targets in the continental US are the big Blue cities.
I get that people are looking at DC.
I’m looking at Brooklyn, which is full of leftists who have suddenly turned from Gandhi into Patton for this war.
Many of them had said they would prefer nuclear war to a Putin win. Maybe they will get both.
“Putin is the only reason WW III or a nuclear war hasn’t occurred.”
That’s what is so ironic about this whole thing. The Ukraizies have this image of Putin as the megalomaniac monster. When he is probably the guy holding it back.
They had that poll the only 38% of Russians support how the war is being conducted.
We are supposed to conclude that the 62% want to surrender now.
In fact, most the 62% think Putin is a weak fag, and they want a massive mobilization and total war.
I’m not sure the poll in question. But, if there is disapproval of Putin over the war in Russia is because he hasn’t gone far enough. Of course, the neocons here are too stupid to understand that.
that’s exactly what it was.
They want a more aggressive war.
It’s also possible that the poll is complete BS. But if it does reflect Russians’ true feelings, it is certainly possible that a sizeable part of that 38% want stronger action.
Yeah, not enlightened like us, and NATO.
We only wanted to help them Ukrainians, that’s why the best of our best, The Clinton’s, the Bushes, the Obamas, the Bidens and the Cheneys were sniffing around. They were looking for opportunities to lend a helping hand.
It back-fired. Who’d a thunk we’d wind up facing the Russians and the Chinese?
AGREE.
