Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has gently nudged his Republican counterparts in the House of Representatives to pump the brakes on chatter of impeaching President Biden.
“I said two years ago, when we had not one but two impeachments, that once we go down this path it incentivizes the other side to do the same thing,” McConnell told the New York Times in an interview published Tuesday.
"Impeachment ought to be rare,” he added. “This is not good for the country.”

This is exactly what impeachment is for - when not impeaching is worse than impeaching.
On the other hand, since there is no way the Senate will even get a majority to convict (even if they have video tape of Biden accepting bribes), I am not sure the exercise would be worth it. (Maybe I am just getting discouraged).

Did the Dems ever expect to get 67 votes to convict President Trump over a perfect phone call (now fully vindicated) or over a speech asking people to peacefully and patriotically make their voices heard? Of course not.
If we get to the point of a Biden impeachment inquiry and with the mounting evidence, we may see that black limo glide up to the WH and convince Biden to resign a la Nixon. Kamala becomes president (barf!), Newsom is confirmed as VP, Kamala wants to spend more time with her family, Newsom becomes POTUS and runs for easy reelection riding the media-fueled sympathy vote. Nine years of Newsom with his VP Warren and the country is dead.
OK, maybe we should not impeach him ...
