We would visit my grandparents in Scottsdale during the summer. My grandfather showed us how to fry an egg on the driveway in the middle of July. This was in the early 60’s prior to climate change.

Construction workers work in 110 degree weather?

When it's cold too .. helps to be tough  ;-)

(well, helped, as of retirement)

Nothing has changed in the Valley in 100 years. It's hot in the summer here. Triple digits ain't shit.

Although May and June were really nice, I must say.

I grew up in MA and moved to FL when I was 19 and now I’m in MO Ozarks. The day we got to MO and I stepped out of the RV, it was 98 degrees with high humidity, just like FL.

Back in my college days I worked at UPS part-time...unloading
tractor trailers during the hottest days in summer and coldest
days in the winter.

Made good money though. Helps to be tough ;-)

In 2017, I worked in Las Vegas for a few months. I tripped one day while running. I "gracefully" rolled back to my feet, but part of the roll was over a manhole cover. The result:

years ago Palm Springs airport had their gate outside waiting area for commuter flights... outdoor seating in 100 degree dry as a bone heat. They kept the area cool by misting the seating area with a fine water mist that instantly evaporated. Dropped the feel of the temperature anyway. From then on knew that airline passengers are like produce to be kept cool like in a grocers.

In the sky is a very large fusion reactor. When the Earth is positioned so that this fusion reactor gets a direct path of radiation to the earth and there is no cloud cover the ground can get hot. Just like a metal car will get hot enough to cook an egg on, so can the ground get very hot in direct radiation from the reactor in the sky. This has been going on for several billion years. I hope this helps any journalists who might be reading this.

As if this has never happened before. We’ve lived part-time in Arizona since 2011. I recall our first July back then. My shoes stuck to the heat softened pavement and I burned my fingers on a car door. Learn and live.

50 years ago I worked 10 - 12 hours a day in tobacco fields in eastern NC. Didn’t bother me.
Now an hour outside in the humidity of VA wipes me out. Sucks to get old.

Construction workers work in 110 degree weather? That should be illegal.

Used to work construction in 114 degree heat on a daily basis - in the sun. No big deal, but you go through a gallon or two of water per day.

Did it again last summer and I survived but ti was not as easy
