It’s so hot in Arizona, doctors are treating a spike of patients who were burned by falling on the ground

It is so hot in Maricopa County, Arizona, that people are being brought into the emergency room with significant, sometimes life-threatening burns. For the past three or four weeks of this record heatwave, people have been burned just by falling on the ground.

Construction workers gather together in the shade on July 11, 2023 in Austin, Texas. Record-breaking temperatures continue soaring as prolonged heatwaves sweep across the country's southwest. Heat can kill on the job, and these workers are dying “Summers are our busy season, so we anticipate that this sort of thing is going to happen. But this is really unusual — the number of patients that we’re seeing and the severity of injuries — the acuity of injuries is much higher,” said Dr. Kevin Foster, director of burn services at the Arizona Burn Center at Valleywise Health. “The numbers are higher and the seriousness of injuries are higher, and we don’t have a good explanation for it.”

Every single one of the 45 beds in the burn center is full, he said, and one-third of patients are people who fell and burned themselves on the ground. There are also burn patients in the ICU, and about half of those patients are people burned after falls…

And the only cure for this is to take away their air conditioning so as to reduce the carbon footprint that causes climate change.

Ever wonder why liberals are always so unhappy? And seek to make others miserable like unto themselves?

Its amazing. I read the whole article and didn’t see “global warming” or “climate change”.

I remember having my feet burned from running in the very hot sand at the beach a couple of times.

Everyone knows how to deal with AZ heat.
It happens every year.
Also every year someone makes a mistake and ends up in trouble.
Happened to me last year....I am still here.

So all those photos over the years of frying eggs on the sidewalk were fake, but because of Climate Change the ground is hot for the first time ever? Riiiight!

Nope. It’s summer.

Cooking eggs on the pavement.
Burning feet trying to walk on pavement barefoot.
Same with beach sand.

Things we did 40 years ago in Massachusetts.

We have moved exurban into a poultry-producing region. I am pleased with this for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that I can get really good eggs not from a grocery store. And heck, even the Costco out here has heirloom blue eggs that are darn good. And only like $6.99 for 18, which is a steal compared to premium regular grocery store eggs.

This reminds me, I should make a quiche this week. I rather like a fresh from the oven quiche and a nice salad for a summertime lunch.

I lived in Phoenix for a short time 35 years ago, and temps in the high teens in the summer were pretty normal.

I got stranded in Utah one year and had to walk a mile or so to find a hotel- I made it about 1/2 way a d had to stop as the pavement had caused huge blisters on my feet.

A Mormon woman saw me sitting on the side of a road checking my foot out, stopped and offered me a ride. Long story short, I got to a motel, checked in, went to the room in agony, and 45 minutes later a knock on the door- was the woman with a bag of food stuff and some kind of herbs to soak the feet in- I dunno what they were, but wow, they really helped alot.

The temp outside was around 107 (but it was a dry heat lol)

Kudos to those who live snd thrive in hot areas- not my cup of tea.

[[Ever wonder why liberals are always so unhappy?]]

The answer if that the truly miserable ones are demon driven- they are just a reflection of their master. But thankfully God can and does getthrough to them, UT u til he does, they truly are miserable people who wish everyone else were as miserable as they are.
