A Georgia Lowe’s employee attempted to stop shoplifters making off with $2,100 amount of merchandise, leaving her unemployed and with a black eye.
Donna Hansbrough, 68, saw three people loading up a shopping cart at a store in Rincon, about 30 minutes north of Savannah, and then leave without stopping to pay, police said.
The veteran employee then grabbed onto the cart allegedly being pushed by Takyah Berry — who slugged the older woman in the face three times, according to authorities. Berry, who was with her uncle, Joseph Berry and another man police identified as Jarmar Lawton, then made off with the goods, the Rincon Police Department said in a news release.

I feel bad for her, but never put your safety on the line for some corporation.
13 years, zero warning, black eye, and fired.
Probably while pulling $15 an hour.
Looks like I’ll be passing Lowe’s on my way to Home Depot.
I feel bad for her too. At least they caught the Perps.
I’d never work retail. The thugs know they can get away with violence and stealing whatever they want.
Ok. In front of every store entrance concrete filled steel tubes. Under the floors of exits/entrances, magnets that stop the wheels of carts from leaving the store. Good grief even Goodwill stores use this magnet system.
Paying customers can get help from employees getting their heavy stuff to their vehicles.
I’ve got to tell this story:
I wanted a bait bucket with an aerator, Amazon showed a three week delay so I went to Cabela’s website. The same bucket was $10 more than Amazon, but they showed it was in stock. Limited inventory though, so I ordered it online for a store pickup. Instead of picking it up the next day, I had to wait 24 hours for ‘order processing’ but I did finally pick it up. It was in a sealed shopping bag so I didn’t get a look at it until I got home.
I discovered that the battery powered pump was gone.
I take it back the next day, and discover that out of the five other units on the shelf, three were missing the same part.
Shoplifters.
What surprised me was that to steal it you had to have a phillips-head screwdriver to get it out! They came prepared. This thievery is killing retail.
This is a collapsed, failed nation.
Also becoming less habitable on a daily basis.
Fiscally and morally bankrupt. Children being brainwashed, groomed & mutilated.
It’s over, barring something unforeseen.
Clearly Lowe’s never deserved an employee as dedicated as Donna Hansbrough.
So she was fired for helping protect the corporation's property. WTG, Corporate Scum!
Why do I even bother buying anything anymore? I think I'll got to Lowe's and steal some stuff.
Oh, wait. This is Florida; I could actually go to jail. Never mind.
I chose electrical engineering because it’s heavily white male.
I chose electrical distribution because it’s even a greater percentage of white males.
No one has a problem, and no one would ever contact HR.
I like women, but not at work.
Already had that problem once in life.
I am not talking about something little. He would tell me contractors would come in and take 4 dollies/rollers full of stuff, and they were allowed to go.
I think it’s the company, not the state.
Let’s face it. The store had to fire her. Trying to prevent a “ Takyah “ from stealing is just plain racist.
A fellow shopper could always call the police, and this being Florida, my next stop would be the Escambia County Jail. You would see my mug shot in a “Florida Man” story.
Sad. Prayers for her.
Sounds like the oil field.
Not a lot of chip-on-the-shoulder types want to work around 765 kV lines and switchgear, huh? Here’s my shocked face.
Every major retail store employee in the USA signed a written statement expressing that fact during orientation.
Shop lifting is bad.
Multi-million dollar lawsuits and medical claims are worse.
Yes and no. Whether you are a Christian or non-Christian, you have an obligation to your fellow man/woman to resist, if only for the well being of your locality. Like Jesus resisted, along with our founding fathers, so should you.
