It’s no secret that many of us would dream of earning a full-time salary without having to complete a strenuous day of work for eight hours, five days a week. Even if most of us were not required to work and did not make the money we do at our jobs, it would be nice to be able to kick our feet up and relax much more often than we can imagine in current times.
One woman believes that this lifestyle was once right at her fingertips before it was stripped away by women’s rights activists in the 1900s. She reminds us that there was once a time when women were not allowed to work outside of their households, and admits that she is more suited for this life than the current one she is living in.
Like many of us who work full-time, Tay (@taymcconish) is feeling burnt out and exhausted. She took to TikTok to express her frustrations and blames those who fought to allow women in the workforce.
“Whoever fought to get women jobs...Why?” the tearful 22-year-old asks in a TikTok video that has been viewed nearly 6 million times. “Why did we do that? I am so tired. I want to just put my feet up.”
Tay reveals in the video’s caption that she is clearly at her breaking point, mentally and physically exhausted from work.
Tay’s feelings were those that many working women could relate to.
“Someone had to say it,” one TikTok user commented. “They should have fought a little less hard,” another user noted of the women’s rights movement.
“Who thought ANYONE should have to work? We should all be sitting on the beach eating cheese and wine,” another user hilariously shared.

It was sarcasm.
THANK YOU
The wife working a job doesn’t really bring much extra net income.
She needs work clothes, she commutes (well maybe not now), she needs to pay for child care. You need to eat more prepared meals. Subtract all that out, and not as much is left as you think.
My wife has been a housewife for years.
When I lived in Milwaukee in early 60’s, 3 story buildings were common.
Business on the street level.
Older couple on 2nd floor
Younger couple with kids on 3rd floor.
I will add that MOST kids then DID AS THEY WERE TOLD WITHOUT DELAY OR SASS
Many people lost their jobs during government mandated shutdown of covid. They simply learned they do not need nor want the extra money. They would rather do without some things or economize. “Let’s see now, go back to the job and hassles, or raise the kids and not have the extra expensive vehicles and Disney trips? I’ll stay home and we can enjoy ourselves much more.”
The American War effort NEVER would have been so successful if “ROSIE THE RIVETER” hadn’t worked in the airplane industry.
I know we made P-38’s in astonishing numbers per week.
So is putting down blacktop in summer heat.
Nah she's too picky. 25% chance she ends up with 10 cats when she turns 40.
THE BEST help at LOWE’S are the retired guys who KNOW THINGS & CAN EXPLAIN THINGS & HOW TO DO THINGS !!!!
“Feminism is the reason that it now takes two incomes to put food on the table.”
Exactly. And Rush mentioned this often.
Andrew Tate made a good point in the interview with Tucker Carlson. Right now you have 30 women and 30 men in a room. One guy is a millionaire. He gets a harem of 30 women. Now you have 29 ordinary men with no mates.
My observation? This is a perfect opportunity for Islam to gain a foothold in the West. Christianity is weak right now.
How many of today’s couples& kids spend more per month on Cell phone bills than I ever spent on a mortgage???
Oh, heck yeah. Kids didn’t talk back or act disrespectfully to adults then. Didn’t dare. That went for at home and in school. Or to *any * adult, be it your parents’ friends, your friends’ parents, the neighbors…anybody.
I remember as a very young adult seeing little horrors in grocery stores or restaurants speaking disrespectfully to their parents in demanding little tones or pitching fits with no repercussions and being appalled. We didn’t dare behave that way when I was growing up - no kids did.
Now those little horrors I saw acting up in stores are horrible adults now. Foisted upon the rest of us. 😖
Oh pick me please.
Women work because we ALWAYS worked. Our domestic contributions were belittled, devalued, and then usurped by a corporate world, and that was coupled with the existence of just ebnough abusive controlling husbands to inspire just enough women to want to take care of themselves.
Life is just difficult for everyone.
Women (or men if the woman was the breadwinner) would not have to work if taxes weren’t so high. In the 50’s and 60’s families did just fine with one income.
can’t find anyone to marry, can’t afford a house, can’t afford an apartment, and have largely given up and just live with Mom and Dad and work at a job they hate.
How depressing to think that people who would like to marry cannot afford to do so. (not referring to lavish weddings, just cost of having a wife and home). Third world and peasant problems we haven’t had to deal with for many decades.
Washboards were used in a tube, to clean clothes, far more often than people owning and using wringer washing machines. Electricity was NOT nation wide available for many. Remember the TVA program?
Running water?
Many rural people had pumps; one inside the kitchen ( by the sink ) and one outside ( this was still the case, in RURAL N.H. in the early 1960s! ), if they were lucky enough to have both. Hot water? Boiled on a stove.
This information used to be taught in schools and/or handed down as "family stories"; however, it would appear that this is now no longer the case.
extremely gullible .. all the way back to Eve ...
Whilst earlier Commies, here, weren't all THAT successful in gaining traction, the RED DIAPER BABIES were, with the lure of "free sex","do your own thing", illicit drugs, getting rid of manners, traditions, religion, the family, and other revered institutions.
It took a while to get where we are now, but here we are and that pathetic excuse for an "adult" ( well,in years ) who posted that sickeningly stupid Tik Tok video, is the result.
