‘Eroded patriotism’: Teen shares why he now won’t follow in father’s footsteps as military recruiting lags (4 MIN VIDEO)

‘Symphony of sewage’ out of White House deters veteran’s son from military service amid recruitment shortfalls

Aden Gilbert grew up watching war movies, fighting enemy combatants in video games and listening to his dad's Marine Corps stories. He considered following in his father's footsteps but changed his mind as he saw the country and its leadership heading in a direction antithetical to his values.

"If we're prioritizing being woke, and we can't actually protect the majority of American people . . . what's the point of having a military?" Gilbert asked Fox News. "Is it really worth joining and putting our life on the line for ideologies that we don't agree with and that we don't want to necessarily protect?"

Military children have historically been more likely to serve their country than their peers. Ten years ago, more than a quarter of new recruits had a parent who had served, and around 80% reported having at least one family member who had done so, according to a Pentagon survey.

"It was something that a man of honor would do, to serve and protect his country and serve and protect those values that existed back then," Gilbert, 18, said. "But I think things are a little bit different now."

The former Marines I know wouldn’t go in today. They loved the Marines. Both wanted a career. But, not under the present politically correct Marines. Nor would they advise anyone to go into the military.

The laziness and obesity of the zoomers may very well be the thing that saves them and the rest of us from the government sending them to Ukraine and starting WW3

2 of my kids served. They highly suggest to their kids not to.

From the article. ‘I WOULD RATHER TIPTOE AROUND LITERAL LANDMINES’ THAN PRONOUNS, TEEN SAYS”

I joined...reluctantly...in ‘69. Had it not been for the draft it’s *highly* unlikely I would have served at all. I would never serve under the likes of Osama Obama or The Big Guy.If there was a draft I’d go to Canada.

And the Army Secretary is just fine with his decision: Biden’s Army Secretary Doesn’t Want 2nd Gen Military Recruits for Fear of a “Warrior Caste”.

“Symphony of Sewage”

Best description of America under Biden that I’ve heard yet.

I served, but wouldn’t join today.
Time for other than white men to die.
Good luck.

I am impressed with this young man.
He’s truly observed and analyzed what’s going on with the dysfunctional military of today.

It's not eroded patriotism that would steer one away from joining the military. It's increased patriotism and knowing you can't serve those who are intent on destroying their fellow citizens.

This young man needs to join the nearest militia.

I hope this kid’s attitude is infectious, and spreads far and wide.

My favorite early American heroes were the Green Mountain Boys of Vermont. They defeated the British and captured Fort Ticonderoga in 1775. Within 18 months, they had become so incorrigible that Gen. George Washington was resisting calls from the Continental Congress to dispatch an armed force northward to subdue them.

They were America’s first “Deplorables.”

MAGA.

The current narrative is that recruiting is down for two reasons: people dont want to "put their lives on hold" and women/minorities fear being discriminated against in the military.

More lies.

Most of the guys I served with in the 70’s were from the midwest or south.

To answer his last question, it's the idea of service @$$hole. I have no patience with people like this.
