During a portion of an interview set to air on Sunday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Sunday Morning Futures” that was aired on Friday’s broadcast of FBN’s “Mornings with Maria,” 2024 presidential candidate former President Donald Trump stated that “it probably was” a mistake for him to nominate Christopher Wray to be FBI Director during his term and Wray “was recommended very strongly” by 2024 GOP rival former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
Host Maria Bartiromo introduced the clip of the interview by stating, “President Trump reacting to this week’s Judiciary Committee hearing with FBI Director Christopher Wray. I spoke with the 45th President…we started our conversation with a look at the upcoming debate and whether he will participate, and I got his reaction to the FBI Director defending [against] the charges of weaponization and [politicization] at the FBI.”

Yes, they’ve been playing this game since the end of WWII. I’ve been told that those who started the CIA were Nazi party card members.
I also agree with you that he knows now, so he has to double down on getting the right people and stay away from Washington people.
I just get annoyed at the Puritans of the board who basically say that Trump has to pick perfect people when none of us know who those perfect people are.
I will support Trump if he does what you suggest.
I agree, but DeSantis has really hurt his future with this campaign.
It looks terminal (but Nixon recovered from losing in CA in 1962.)
There are some parallels between deSantis and Nixon. Similar personal strengths and weaknesses.
I said what I mean. President Trump is not GOD. He can be citized when he makes mistakes.
No, I don’t Trump 2.0 is better than DeSantis by a lot.
Please take your name calling to another thread. Or even better, keep it to yourself. And review Jim’s recent notice on namecalling and insults.
If Chris Christie does something, do the other thing and you’ll be okay.
And if Christie says “Trust me on this.” Decline.

“ Why was he on Trump’s debate prep team in 2020?”
That says it all.
His 2020 debates were incredibly bad.
Instead of raving at Biden like he did; he could have smiled, pulled a Reagan, and said “there you go again Joe”.
Yelling at Biden in the debates did nothing.
No, he crushed Brandon in the second debate
And here’s the RINO who gave us this political hack as our FBI director, because he wanted someone that his fellow RINOs & Democrats really wanted. In his own words:
“I put Chris Wray in because I wanted to have somebody in there that everybody, including the other side, really wanted. It may not have been the right move. Let’s see. Time will tell, okay? But I wanted to have somebody in the FBI, because I’m an honorable guy, I’m an honest guy, I may have made a mistake. But I put somebody in that the other side, everybody agreed to. You know who recommended him to me? Chris Christie, okay. He recommended him. And that’s okay, I don’t mind that, I’ve taken Chris Christie’s recommendations before. And other people wanted Christopher Wray. And people from the other side wanted Christopher Wray.” -Donald Trump to Hannity (March 2023)
In that case, you tell them to go F themselves and rotate acting directors until they’ve had enough and confirm your picks.
So tired of this buck passing. Trump put Wray in there - not Christie. No one here is voting for Christie, so why was Donald taking advice from him? Wray finalized the transformation of the FBI into the Stasi, and we have to sit here and make excuses for Trump again bc he didn’t want to pick a fight over the most crucial vacancy of his presdiency.

Trusting Chris Christie was a mistake. Do we have any guarantees at all that a second Trump term will see him appoint better people? I hope he has learned his lesson.
