Axios ^ | July 9, 2023 | Eleanor Hawkins

The boycott in response to Bud Light's outreach to transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney has had notable staying power.

Why it matters: The ferocity of this particular boycott — which has entered its third month of headlines — is due in large part to the brand's misalignment with key consumers, easily accessible competitors and the poor corporate response.

Suspect its staying longer than a typical boycott because its not really a boycott. A brand that ruined its reputation among its customers. There is no artificial push to make the former customers stay away in protest. They just lost interest in the brand.

Its because the CEO didnt immediately correct their stupid woke mistake and instead tried to justify using a fag cross dressing pervert, alienating their consumer base.

Many Bud Light drinkers have left and they are not coming back. There are many other choices within the same strata of ... beer ... so why Bud Light?! Since BL so obviously holds those who drink it in contempt.

Most conservatives had a live and let live attitude…..that has all changed…

There maybe a lot more boycotts…Target is on the list…Bed Bath and Beyond was first…

Things like this happen from time to time. Just ask The Dixie Chicks.

I’m watching AB stock.

It is going to skyrocket back up after the 2024 election.

Right now they are caught in an insurmountable revolt.

If Trump is elected, I’m riding that sucker to FU money.

"Boycott" implies a temporary situation and that people, once a particular issue is resolved, will go back to their normal buying habits.

I don't think that is the case here. People have chosen to stop buying bud light. Period.

I don't think there is any apology or course of action Budweiser could now take that would cause people to go back to Bud Light. Sure some will, but Bud lights sales will never return to what they were previously.

I never bought Bud Light. But, I quit buying anything AB which used to be Michelob Ultra. No more forever.

I was in Costco today. Budlight display was pretty full. But so was the Miller Lite display. Budlight costs more.

Their customers discovered that Bud was no longer the inexpensive American beer. It is an expensive Queer Beer, and most other beers taste far better at the same or less cost.

Has others have referenced here, this is not a boycott, it’s a divorce.

Because it ain’t a boycott. Normal people just left and they won’t come back.
