Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes tells U.S. Supreme Court to shove it

Colorado has a law on the books that says, in simple terms, a business open to the public can’t discriminate against gay people.

The radical right-wing majority of the U.S. Supreme Court issued a ruling last week saying that, yes, it can.

The court took the side of a web designer in Colorado who said it was her First Amendment right to refuse to design wedding websites for same-sex couples.

Arizona has a law much like Colorado’s.

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes announced in no uncertain terms that her office is determined to enforce it.

The Supreme Court be damned.

SCOTUS has the authority to shut down every Fed court in the state. Imagine the backlog in just weeks.

Go to a Jewish or Muslim caterer and tell them you want pulled pork sandwiches at your reception and see what they say. Then ask your liberal friends or family members their opinion. Watching the mental gymnastics is entertaining. I’ve done it. You sit and wait for the smoke to come from their ears before the brain completely shuts down.

Does she expect residents to comply with Arizona laws?

“And when a local business refuses service to a Trump supporter? “

But Trump supporters and conservatives are not a ‘protected class’. There is no law forbidding discrimination against them. But will Arizona be ‘determined’ to enforce its law against a Muslim-owned bakery that declines to bake a ‘gay’ wedding cake?

Who would enforce the court decision. The federal executive is in the hands of the progs. The State of Arizona is currently in the hands of the Progs. So who exactly would carry out the writ you prescribe?

I think private businesses should be able to do whatever they want. Public services should be open to everyone, but if somebody doesn’t want to support butt piracy they shouldn’t have to. If there is a market for butt piracy, then somebody somewhere will open a joes butt pirate emporium and make eleventy billion dollars

If CWII is what it takes, it would be a sad day but it is what it is. I do not recognize the country I grew up in. Heck, I don’t recognize it from a few years ago. Such changes for the worse.

I know. My neighborhood is lost. One of my neighbors lost his wife recently and not one neighbor turned up with casserole or condolences. Turns out he is a vocal Trump supporter. Pride flags are flying everywhere in this once conservative neighborhood.

“This is what Democrats do. They ignore laws that they don’t want to follow and never face any consequences.”

My thoughts precisely, every time a normal decision was handed down and celebrated by “our side” this term.

These rulings change nothing, because the left won’t abide by them and nobody will do anything about it.

Let’s say the Ariz AG prosecutes someone for not following a law the US Supreme Court has just nixed. The defense will file a pre-trial motion to dismiss, citing the Supreme Court decision, and asking for legal costs and sanctions against the AG for willful prosecutorial misconduct. Unless the AG has shopped for a leftist judge, that will be the end of it. Otherwise it will be appealed, then dismissed.

The AG is making noise for her leftist base. Unless she wants to signal her virtue by going down in flames, talk is all she’ll do.

So, be a somebody. Do something, talk to a neighbor, write a letter, don’t let the issue die.

Yours was the only comment on Abe's court case against Mayes. Thank you.

With only 281 votes between them, an Arizona judge refuses to rule on Abe's case.

Suggest the posters quit ranting and support Abe, the real winner in Arizona's Attorney General race.

Again, thank you.

The case was pretty narrow. Colorado agreed it would enforce the law as the Christian web designer said they would in her lawsuit. The ruling simply says the government cannot compel speech. No American should see this as problematic. The Left loves to say a school can’t require the pledge of allegiance but they are saying, backed by the coercive power of the state, a client can force speech and creativity as if she’s their damned slave.

They would be free to use a generic template wedding website kit provided by her but demanding she use her talents to create something custom against her faith is a NO. Americans are a free people with unalienable rights.

The Left is flexing its fascist impulses trying to control thoughts and behaviors more overtly than ever. They don’t want to win over people, win hearts and minds. It’s what Rush called “unity through fascism” and it’s alive and thriving like a metastatic cancer.

Despite the Left’s talking point, this isn’t discrimination against LGB. It’s not aimed at that community. They use this lie to stir outrage and score political points. In this case you aren’t denying service based on who they are, you are asserting your independence and individual rights over your mind and body. I think if the case were honestly described in leftist friendly terms, there would be no controversy.

Dems are saying the court acted improperly taking this case since no actual LGBT were denied a wedding website and she wasn’t held accountable by Colorado but Colorado agreed it would enforce their law as she claimed. They are also claiming she only got into the business of website design to have this case. I would be shocked if this happened; the Left has never provoked a case, not even Rosa Parks. /s

Believe me, for whatever reason, many folks truly did adore and vote for Barack Obama, at least in the beginning. Remember the huge crowds where a few even fainted? Christians in my parent’s church even donated.

My late parents’ family doctor (white Republican) almost as elderly as they were voted for Zero twice. Why? To do something historic and prove he wasn’t a racist. Those were the only reasons he could articulate. There were a lot of people like that!

The Judicial system. If the system will not issue or enforce a Writ of Mandamus then there is absolutely no hope for this nation.

at some point, if a writ of mandamus is issued by the proper court, and the executive branch refuses to do so...

does upholding the constitutional order require citizens to carry it out anyway?
