Well, it was another banner week from the six unelected zealots who apparently make all of America's public policy decisions. Yet even after the hard-right supermajority on the Supreme Court torched affirmative action, greenlit all manner of ugly discrimination against LGBTQ Americans and yanked up to $20,000 from millions of indebted borrowers, President Biden and his allies still can't bring themselves to threaten or even contemplate serious reform to the judicial branch. Instead, they seem content to watch our very own Guardian Council wreak total havoc on American society...

Actually, Athens started as a direct democracy, where citizens had a first-hand vote regarding decisions of law and politics. Thus mob rule at the beginning. On the other hand, Rome was a representative democracy, which elected officials that subsequently decided on state matters. But also failed in their representative brand of democracy for various in-fighting amongst the elected officials and their Emperors.

Oh! It was just fine when unelected Democrats in Black Robes were issuing rulings we all had to live by in the 60s and 70s but GOD FORBID a later SCOTUS roll any of that back. THAT you see would “destroy democracy”.....even though rule by judicial fiat was not democracy in the first place.
