The Army’s top civilian leader pushed back amid Republican criticisms that the military is going too "woke," arguing such critiques are deepening an already troubling recruiting crisis.
"We are a ready Army, not a ‘woke’ Army," Army Secretary Christine Wormuth told reporters last week, according to a report in Task & Purpose. "That’s something, frankly, the chief [Army Chief of Staff Gen. James McConville] and I said throughout posture season in hearings, in meetings with members of Congress."
Wormuth’s comments come as all branches of the military have come under fire for what some critics see as "woke" policies, arguing the services have been prioritizing classes and training on diversity, equity, and inclusion over readiness to fight the nation’s wars.

Christine Wormouth is the Alyssa Heinerscheid of the Army. I’m surprised she has not called Dylan Mulvaney to to be the new army spokesman.
My sister’s SIL is a Major in the Army.He was in consideration to be demoted because there was a complaint that he used the wrong pronoun.
After a SIX MONTH investigation he was cleared.
If there is a war the Chinese will kick our ass
"She entered government as a Presidential Management Intern and received a Masters of Public Policy from the University of Maryland. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science and fine art from Williams College."

"...critiques are deepening an already troubling recruiting crisis."
Translation: Don't criticize or wha-a-a-a-!
Because she is an Obama "a political appointee in early 2009." And this is the third term of Obama using Biden as he's barely been used before.....
"Lock and load" your political science, your fine arts and your public policy," and fire ---words and other sorts of blanks.
It's a volunteer military in the moment. Volunteer. Someone doesn't want to volunteer means "no thanks." Woke or not. No thanks.
A Freeper who said he was teaching a special military class in advanced fighting techniques told me he had the best woman he had ever seen in one of his classes. He said she knew her stuff and worked hard. At one point she went out into the hall. He followed her and found her crying. She said, the lightest, smallest guy in there is backing me around the floor like I’m a nobody. He said she worked her ass off and got through the class but in no way was she going to last in an actual fight against a halfway competent male.
I’m male. I have some fight training. But on the spectrum of the potential competition, I’d get my butt handed to me. Some people are designed for some roles and others aren’t. There are few women who can compete against a male. That’s just nature. This is why there shouldn’t be female patrol officers or females in combat roles. It was a requirement for the guys working on the tanks my company maintained that they had to be able to pull the heaviest unconscious man out of a tank. Then, I heard we had to hire some women. (I didn’t find out how that worked out as I took another job.)
“ I think we do have a wide range of soldiers in our Army and we’ve got to make them all feel included, and that’s why a lot of our diversity, equity, and inclusion programs are important,”
He's already lost this battle because he doesn't properly recognize the enemy.
He sees what he calls rhetoric, rather than the military's own actions, to be the enemy.
Bad move.
So the military examines the social media of military personnel for non politically correct opinions and expels those they disagree with. Then with a straight face they deny that they are political. These people are idiots.
First the Space Force general and now this dufus?
Sounds like a burgeoning coordinated narrative to me……
RLTW
And General Milley is a prime example of......?
Christine Wormouth.. telling government lies. At least it’s obvious.
WTF, she probably doesn't know what an ARTEP is: Army Training and Evaluation Program.
I'll admit it, I flunked my first one as a Platoon Leader, but it was one of the best learning experiences ever. I found out what was permissible and what was not. I applied that knowledge on 3 more Platoon ARTEPs, and as acting XO on a Battery Level ARTEP.
I loved those subsequent evaluations, it was like Showtime for me. I also participated in a Battalion level evaluation, as the S-4. It was a walk in the park.
You want to shape up the Army? Mandate quarterly ARTEPs at Platoon level, semi-annually at company/battery level, and annually at battalion level.
"Because we may be needed to perform Special Tasks when the time comes."
It's inevitable if you have to work at the Defense Contract Audit Agency. At least half of the supervisors are man hating divorcees, with a kid or two.
Worst 3 years of my professional career.
One day the military will require every American to properly honor and celebrate Pride Month which itself might be extended to last longer.
Look up the qualifications both past experiences and education of this female Clauswitz. She’s not qualified to run a small town post office.
So...the military pissed off the very pool of volunteers they’d hoped to pull from...and it’s the volunteers’ fault.
Somebody hand me a dictionary, please. I need to look up the word “volunteer”.
The Federal Army of the Woke State on the Potomac.
So what did Ms. WormMouth have to say?
