The Memo: Barr, Bolton, Kelly line up to condemn Trump over alleged crimes
The Hill ^ | 06/18/23 6:04 AM ET | NIALL STANAGE

Posted on 06/18/2023 5:24:19 AM PDT by E. Pluribus Unum

Most of former President Trump’s rivals for the GOP nomination have taken a cautious path in responding to his indictment — but some veterans of his administration have taken a far more assertive stance.

Bill Barr, who served as Trump’s attorney general, said that Trump would be “toast” if “even half” of the behavior alleged in the indictment proved to be true.

Barr later called the defenses mounted by Trump and his allies “farcical” and said that the former president had “engaged in an outrageous act of obstruction and deception.”

John Bolton, who was national security advisor for Trump from 2018-2019, called the indictment “devastating” and said it should be the “end of Donald Trump’s political career.”

Former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly told the Washington Post that Trump was “scared s**tless” by the circumstances in which he finds himself, adding “he’s never been held accountable before.”

Barr, Bolton and Kelly have all grown more alienated from Trump in recent years, but they are nonetheless cut from different cloth than “Never Trump” figures like former Reps. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) and Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.).

This lends them some degree of credibility, at least in terms of providing a counterpoint to Team Trump’s claims that the indictment — on 37 counts, including conspiracy to obstruct justice — is a politically motivated attempt to hobble his chances of winning back the presidency.

Other significant figures in the party and in the broader conservative movement have also weighed in against Trump’s conduct in relation to the sensitive documents found at Mar-a-Lago.

In doing so, they have created a sharply different dynamic around this case than the indictment filed against Trump in April in New York.

Have Bilbo Barr and company breathed a single word about FJB's $10-million bribe from Burisma or the classified documents he stored in Chinatown to grant easy access to the CCP?

or the classified documents he stored in Chinatown to grant easy access to the CCP?

Or the classified docs he stole from the SCIF in the Senate. That IS a violation of the Espionage Act.

Do you have a source for that photo? If real, that’s a smoking gun of NARA mishandling classified documents by disrupting the chain of custody and should be used by Trump’s lawyers. Get NARA’s head under oath and find out why they left these documents outside.

Bill Barr’s father:

He was headmaster of the Dalton School from 1964 to 1974.[9] During his time as Dalton’s headmaster, Barr is alleged to have had a role in hiring future financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein as a math teacher despite the fact that Epstein (who graduated from high school at the age of 16 and secured a full scholarship to Cooper Union) had failed to complete his degree and was only 21 years old at the time.[10][11] In 1973, Barr published Space Relations, a science fiction novel about a planet ruled by oligarchs who engage in child sex slavery. It has been noted that the plot of the novel anticipates the crimes of Epstein and his alleged accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell.[12]

I’m assuming the Epstein connection is why Barr is totally deep state and hates trump so much.

Try clicking on the photo. There is this new-fangled thing called “The Interwebs” that has these things called “hyperlinks” that take you to related things.

The number of deep state moles that Trump had to deal with was staggering. It’s a wonder that he was able to do as much as he did.

Tillerson is probably also being begged to resurface and resume his criticism of Trump. If he is wise, he will stay out of the pile on.

Most of these arguments against Trump’s handling of his documents seem rather emotional.

Questions: Who boxed them up and carried them out? Could someone have slipped papers in there intentionally to be found at a later date and used against Trump? Doesn’t it seem odd that the NARA came after Trump so soon after his leaving office, like they knew there was something in those boxes that would be incriminating? (ie - the 21 most damning papers)

The number of deep state moles that Trump had to deal with was staggering.

Deep state moles are people like Alexander Vindman and Peter Strzok - embedded bureaucrats who have their own agendas and will seek to thwart the will of any POTUS who they don't agree with. Barr, Bolton and Kelly are all people who Trump interviewed and hired himself.

The quality of the people who Trump hired continues to be a big concern for me - he did not have a good track record of hires, and it's amazing he got as much positive work done as he did given how many backstabbers he hired.
