State Farm and Allstate are no longer accepting applications for new home insurance in California. Existing State Farm and Allstate homeowners insurance customers in the state will retain their coverage. If you need home insurance in California, compare quotes and ensure you have enough disaster coverage.

Just do what the millions of illegals do in CA, eff the insurance.
Lots of insurance cos in Cali still
Btw, for those of you getting financially raped by your greedy insurance carriers, we dumped AAA and went with State Farm, and reduced our premiums by a *very* significant amount.
AAA kept jacking up our premiums, yet no claims filed, no moving violations, same vehicles etc. So after many years, we dumped them like a bad habit.
And the bonus prize is, we signed up with a company that dumped CA!! Makes me smile!
But you’ll have less option$ with fewer carriers.. And they know you’ll now have fewer choices. ☺
Move to Colorado. It’s a lost cause anyway, and we don’t really need any more Calfornians moving to Texas.
Better yet move to Oregon
Even better than that, Move to New Jersey
Write a check to the DNC.
Huh. Maybe I learn Spanish, move to LA and sell insurance. Rents cheap, I just need a tent. Crap, I’ll need an EV too. Never mind.
USAA IF YOUR A VETERAN
California has a limit to car insurance costs. Thus, every company that writes insurance for cars in CA lose money. House insurance is tough with the regular fires and the best option is a state sponsored insurance (I forget the name).
I used CSAA - the Northern California Auto Club - for my homeowner’s insurance when I owned a home in California. So did my parents when I was a kid. No telling when they’ll stop offering homeowner’s insurance, though.
Also children and grandchildren of veterans
I would not be surprised to see big carriers bail on CA auto coverage as well. Increasingly more companies are realizing that despite the huge size of the CA market, it’s just not worth doing business there.
State Farm or Allstate...after you move out of that leftist hellhole.
“but there are several other strong options if you need to insure your property in California”
so far ... oh, and the new rates for EVERYONE, both old policies and new ones, will skyrocket due the same reasons state farm and allstate pulled out, PLUS because of the now almost non-existent competition ...
and probably, not too long from now, there’ll be ZERO companies willing to insure property in california, which means the state will be forced to issue property insurance, and THEIR rates will be astronomical, and their service will be nearly non-existent ...
Self insure.
Good luck.
Maybe I learn Spanish, move to LA and sell insurance. Rents cheap, I just need a tent.

Well, if you are an actual conservative, you can get insurance on your new home in Texas, Alabama,Tennessee, Mississippi, etc. with several companies. You have options!
If you are a progressive, just stay in California and enjoy the pain!
Haven’t had a mortgage in a long time but I seem to recollect that having insurance was a contractual obligation to the lender by the borrower.
