Bud Light and its parent company Anheuser-Busch are sponsoring at least three different upcoming Pride events despite backlash over the partnership with Dylan Mulvaney, a social media influencer who identifies as transgender.
Bud Light is listed as a sponsor on the Cincinnati Pride Parade website. Planned Parenthood and the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, which medically transitions minors, are both also listed.
Meanwhile, in St. Louis, Missouri, where Anheuser-Busch is headquartered, the company is listed as the presenting sponsor of the St. Louis Pride Parade. A sponsorship packet explains that there are only four “presenting sponsor” slots available. The “Rainbow” sponsorship tier, located below the “presenting sponsor” tier, requires entities to pay $25,000.
Bud Light is also listed as a “Diamond Sponsor” of Stonewall Columbus, which organizes and hosts the annual Columbus, Ohio, Pride Parade. The “diamond” sponsorship tier requires companies to donate $20,000, a document from the organization specifies. The document also adds, “All Stonewall Columbus sponsors must affirm Stonewall’s diversity, equity, and inclusion policies AND agree to donate no less than 8 hours of volunteer time during a calendar year.”

It takes a lot of work successfully putting on a parade, even on the amateur levels. Lots of planning, rehearsing, movement of equipment, in some cases, keeping the horses calm but attentive. The sound systems must be in synch. And then, you’re supposed to keep on smiling during your long walk on the hot asphalt.
Choreographer Busby Berkeley was another outstanding entertainment talent during that era.
His medium was working with dancers, who created the geometric-mosaic like illusions of parades.
Yeah, this is more like the Dixie Chicks all over again - ie insulting your core market.
They don’t care about their core market. Their ESG score is all that matters.
I was in an Olive Garden this week. The bartender was pouring pitchers of Bud Light, and dumping them down the drain till it ran out. At an earlier restaurant, the first choice for a beer offered was Bud Light. They are pulling out all the stops.
Name the event the “Butt-Lite Pride Parade”, sponsored by azzhole-liberals for butthead liberals who fall for this crap.
If you have to shove “pride” down someone’s throat, it is not “earned”, only superimposed like a bad tattoo.
It is more like the little guy known as The Wizard of Oz behind a curtain with a megaphone instead of someone whose actions and acumen earn your respect instead of wearing rainbows and unicorn clothing.
Gay people I know and worked with earned my respect as a person by their demeanor and accomplishments through hard work, not because of “the horse named Bud they rode in on”.
I’m sure their stockholders are amused.
I saw this described elsewhere as a “brand collapse”
Yeah, I quite agree and that’s a semi-important point. The audience that was offended was not a high-fallutin’ cadre of folks stepping up to the bar and proudly or ambitiously ordering a craft beer...it was (and is) good ol’ boys working (not wokeing) on cars, etc; just as you said.
A billion-dollar observation.
This is why we must never buy thier products again. They think we are stupid. This is the hill to die on,other companies are watching. If we stop, they win.Hope they are proud of that pride parade.
Real bright… Pouring gasoline on the fire. The CEO is a special kind of stupid.
Yup. The claymores are facing the wrong direction.
Double down on stupid.
Bud light in the loafers.
Bud stock -26%
Maybe their new slogan could be: The Beer for Queers!
“was in an Olive Garden this week. The bartender was pouring pitchers of Bud Light, and dumping them down the drain till it ran out”
No takers, Beer went flat in the keg? Good stuff.
Cant help themselves, the extreme minority has brought them to their knees and destruction
