A Cobb County judge recently ruled in favor of 186 Georgia churches suing to disaffiliate from the United Methodist Church.
In a crowded courtroom filled with more than 200 people, Superior Court Judge Steven Schuster ruled Tuesday that 186 United Methodist churches should be able to vote to disaffiliate from the UMC, according to a news release from the Wesleyan Covenant Association, an organization helping north Georgia churches disaffiliate.
The Georgia churches listed in the lawsuit, filed on March 30, requested the North Georgia Annual Conference restore the processes that were already in place allowing churches to disaffiliate.

What about the church buildings?? Do they stay with the UMC, or go with the disaffiliating congregation????
My church will be affiliated with the Global Methodist Church as of midnight-01, June 01, 2023!
All we have to do now is rid ourselves of our LIEberal UMC minister!
PS I see “Fair Winds and Following Seas” ahead of us!
We have a marvelous opportunity for real growth and community involvement, now that the homosexual albatross is no longer around our necks!
sue the hell out of the faggots that infiltrated the churches for the chaos and destruction they caused!
There has always been disunity and diversity.
I was disbelieving about this but looked it up and yes, there are a lot of Protestant denominations in the US:
“the Center for Global Christianity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, which is evangelical Protestant , estimates that there are currently 47,000 denominations .”
47,000
The signs are since gone, but the ultra leftism is still there, one highly suspects.
I HIGHLY recommend Christians purchase a copy of this manual for Church Discipline, by Dr Jay E Adams. the father of the modern Christian counseling movement:
Then have a talk with your pastors to regain what has been lost. This never should have happened.
We had to pay $65k to get out (Pastor’s pension, IIRC) and got title to all of our property.
Congratulations, Taxman!
I wish we would speed up the process here in Oklahoma. The folks at my local rural UMC church still happily have their heads in the sand. People want to avoid ruining lifelong friendships in this small town, but there is no way significant animosity is going to be avoided.
Congratulations!
There is NO WAY a “BLM” sign would appear on our property!
We are not racist! We have a substantial minority membership, and, so far, so good!
Members voted 97% in favor of disaffiliation!
A few LIEberals have left; Good Riddance!
Perhaps not, but it did.
And, UMC is not the first national church to split along homosexual lines.
And, it will not be the last.
What percentage are leaving?
Nationwide it appears to be around 11%.
In my locale (Susquehanna Conference) that holds true but my immediate MAGA Trump aka “flyover country” it is more than 30%.
Thanks!
I look forward to our “New Beginning!”
That is a great deal of money, but worth it. Did the pastor leave, too? Or was the pension what was held by the denomination and has to be covered by the church?
Go back a little farther.
Read the Pastoral Manual of St Gregory.

Congrats!
Our local UMC did the same.
Is your church now part of the Global Methodist Church?
It is Sodomy versus non-Sodomy.
We will discover new Christian affiliations with denomination lines disappearing before long. It will be good versus evil battle lines.
