There has always been disunity and diversity.
I was disbelieving about this but looked it up and yes, there are a lot of Protestant denominations in the US:

The UMC "church" near us was one of the first places in our fine city to put out "Black Lives Matter" signs along the street in front of their building.

The signs are since gone, but the ultra leftism is still there, one highly suspects.
