So we just throw our hands up and say, oh well, there was nothing we could do, we had to shut down the country, and destroy millions of jobs, lives, etc. Ridiculous. We had the Presidency! We should have done better. There is no way on God’s green Earth we should have shut down the country the way we did, and for us to sit here now and say, ‘well, it was the best we could do’ is crap. Oh, and to say, no one would have fired Fauci, I don’t believe that either. Rand Paul would have fired him.
I agree with you 100%. That's Monday-morning quarterbacking. There is hardly anything Trump did in the early weeks of COVID that I wouldn't have done myself. Remarkably, from the time COVID first hit the news it turned out that he had the best instincts on it all along. He said it would be comparable to a bad flu season, shut down air travel from China, and warned Americans to take care of themselves.
For that he was called a "xenophobe," and by early March even many pathetic losers here on this website who call themselves "patriotic conservatives" turned into simpering sheep and began begging him to "do something!"
