Former President Donald Trump launched a hail of attacks directed at Gov. Ron DeSantis Friday morning as rumors continue to swirl regarding an impending DeSantis presidential run.
Trump criticized the Florida governor over his state’s “very average” handling of the coronavirus pandemic and pointed to former Democrat New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s handling of the situation.
“How about the fact that he had the third most deaths of any State, as Governor, on the China Virus. Even Cuomo did better,” Trump said on TRUTH Social.
Cuomo reportedly oversaw his state’s health agency “misle[a]d the public” on nursing home deaths.

Seems to me third largest state would have third largest death count. Meanwhile, the state was mostly open, not like NY.

Trump seems to be courting the Dem vote. We have to remember that Trump was a Dem for most of his life and only became a GOPer for reasons of political expediency.

You should should have seen the posts trying to absolve President Trump of ANY responsibility regarding the bump stock ban that he supported. The best one was that President Trump had NO authority to stop the ATF from declaring bump stocks to be illegal on a Federal level.
Cuomo was forced from office in shame, while DeSantis won reelection by nearly 20% and over 1 million votes in Florida, but somehow, Cuomo did a better job handling Covid.
Anyone who agrees with this is what I call a Trump Sycophant.
This is my first comment in a long time here. I no longer belong. I do still read some. It’s funny to think Trump and some Freepers will join democrats and Disney in bashing DeSantis for covid and chicks with d***s.

I don’t accept Trump’s claim at face value, but it must also be remembered that covid affected seniors most, and Florida has the largest population of seniors in the nation. Covid should have been devastating in Florida. That it wasn’t was largely due to Desantis prioritizing the vaccine availability for seniors and other at risk populations, not insisting on forcing everyone to get vaccinated. Just another spurious claim by Trump. He reminds me of Harry Reid - he will make the most outrageous claims knowing they are false, as long as they might damage his opponents. Honesty is not a consideration for him.
Trump is losing me. That was a really stupid statement by a guy who called Biden a divider. What does Trump think statements like this do to the Republican party??

DeSantis basically followed the plan put forward in the Great Barrington Declaration, which was ridiculed by the Covid Nazis, he prioritized and protected the elderly and kept things open including schools which will be a long term benefit for kids in Florida, meanwhile schools in NY stayed closed for over 1 year, time that will never be made up, creating a generation of ignorance that is even greater than before Covid.
He’s really embarrassing himself, and he doesn’t even know it.
Please stop posting this nonsense. In the spring of 2020, DeSantis imposed lockdown orders in Florida that rivaled the bullsh!t we saw from the worst Branch Covidian Nazis anywhere in the U.S.

But I'll still vote for Trump in the primaries. If DeSantis is the nominee, I'll vote for him in the general, but I sure do not like the people supporting him. It's a list of RINO traitors -- Romney, Ryan, Jeb, Asa, Turtle, to name a few.
People vote with their feet. If Covid was handled so badly, why did so many move to Florida during that time?
