ATLANTA — Brian Kemp, the 59-year-old son of an Athens farmer who was once trampled by a 750-pound bovine in a cattle chute, has developed a way of casting calm in the fiercest of storms.
Six months after soundly defeating Democrat Stacey Abrams in their second matchup in four years, he remains undaunted by everything that has happened to him in the past few years, from Abrams refusing to admit she lost that race four years ago to the strident national media criticisms of how he handled COVID-19, MLB's meltdown over his state’s new voting laws, the money spent to undo him as well as the pressure former President Donald Trump put on him to overturn the Georgia election results, President Joe Biden’s assertion he was enacting Jim Crow 2.0, and Trump’s return last year to campaign against him in the state’s primary.
Now, as the presidential primary contests loom without Kemp as a candidate, the governor talked to the Washington Examiner about his plans for Georgia as he enters his second term, his thoughts about Trump, and whether he has presidential ambitions of his own.
Washington Examiner: You defied Trump, but you kept the favor of your state — not in a squeaker but with an overwhelming victory. You upheld democracy without throwing your conservative beliefs under the bus. So why aren’t you running for president?

You nailed it!
You upheld democracy without throwing your conservative beliefs under the bus.”
Tells you the author is a rat. As if having conservative beliefs are in conflict with democracy
Has Georgia eliminated the vote-counting procedure in which ballots are pulled out of hiding and counted multiple times after election observers have been sent home (a la Ruby Freeman and her daughter in Atlanta in 2020)? Just curious!
Why not write "cow" so we know it wasn't just one of his heftier constituents?
Georgia has done NOTHING to clean up its corrupt voting procedures and methods under Rats (Sec of State) and Kemp.
BOTH Kemp and Rats were “selected” in the GA GOP primary by democrats crossing over on “day of the election” using multiple prompts from the in-place voting officials, AND the numerous reminders that “you can change parties” on the “mail-in” ballots.
This is merely (yet another) fawning Washington elite pandering to the GOP “moderates” who already indicate they can surrender, and will continue to surrender, to the Washington insiders.
Selena just wanted Not to be confused with stacey Abrams.
What was Kemp trying to do with the cow.......
THe RINObastards want those court gag orders to shut Trump up during the campaign,,,,not gonna work.
Oh my Trump speaks the truth and intimidates witnesses who are lying?
BUahahahahahahahahaha!
GA has turned into a State run by RINOS and Liberals.
DeSantis/Kemp would be a good ticket for 2024. Kemp is going to be key to help to lock up Georgia. Then DeSantis need to go after Arizona, Nevada and Wisconsin. That’s his road to 270 and the White House.
So you believe that corrupt rigged elections are the same thing as a loss?
So Joseph Stalin was the legitimately "elected" leader of the Soviet Union?
Fake elections are not legitimate. Till Georgia's elections are made secure, there will be crap results in Georgia from now on.
The result is that joe biden is president. Trump was president but should have been better prepared for the election.
Pumping up people like Ronna isn’t going to help.
I suspect Kemp made a deal with the democrats that they let him have his final term as governor and then the State could be turned over to Stacy Abrams and the democrats. He remained as Governor, the left got two Senators. After the next election the state will have turned completely blue.
Selena Zito, what a phony!
