A local resident told the Tampa City Council Thursday that the cost of reparations in the city should be "$3 million per person."
"All this nonsense, homelessness and all this other garbage you all talk about. Police violence and all this stuff — don’t nobody care about that," the man said.
"We care about our reparations. And we have to put White people on notice that we want our reparations. Our foreparents and us didn’t work for free and [get] underpaid and all this nonsense and the White folks get away with it," the man added," while "they talk about the great city they’re building."

I do not bother much with that angle.
We are simply not in arrears to former slaves.
Had anyone ever been so when the former slaves died without bringing a lawsuit to claim their back wages any possible claim they may have had died with them. Their descendants have no Standing to bring such a suit themselves.
Then there is the whole ex post facto and no working corruption of blood aspects.
American descendants of slaves are not owed one thin dime on account of slavery.
With the federal there is no enumerated power for any of those programs so I would certainly support getting rid of it all.
Well, if you think it is so bad here...migrate back to Africa. We really won’t miss you much, we have plenty of immigrants wanting to come here.

I can't see that the HOW makes much difference to the NOW.
Bringing Africans to these shores was a catastrophic mistake that will likely prove fatal in the end. And yet those of African descent who are here now benefited from that slave trade or they would be living in mud huts dodging lions, crocs and cobras as we speak. They have the easiest lives of any African descendants in the world and hate it.

We never should have participated in the centuries old African slave trade.
NEVER
Just because Africans were selling didn’t mean we should have been buying. It’s the same as a thief selling stolen goods. The thief is evil - but that trade would not exist if the stuff wasn’t being ‘bought’... We bear some responsibility for ‘buying’ what NEVER should have been sold.
Luckily we put a stop to that evil - to slavery - here in the US and then went toi Africa and put an end to slavery there.
Yes, Africans were selling people which was evil - but for our part we never should have allowed our citizens to buy them.
No civilized cultures sell their fellow citizens. It was so disgusting... Africans were to blame but we should never have participated in their evil.
