Senator Ed Markey (D-MA) said Thursday on MSNBC’s “Katy Tur Reports” that President Joe Biden should use the 14th Amendment to address the debt ceiling if Republicans are not reasonable.
Markey said, “I would ask when you put up that poll that you also put up the identical poll on tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires and trillions of dollars that have been given to them over the last five years.”

You mean the DNC donor list?
Hey Dems, I Double Dog Dare You to use 14th Amendment. Stop making threats you cowards. Follow through.
Actually, lets see you act like Adults for once!!!
Commie idiot says “the Constitution means what I want it to mean on any given day, and the opposite tomorrow if my political enemies say it.”
The question is whether, if Brandon were to try just declaring that the power of Congress is his instead, if anyone would do anything about it, or just meekly let the country and the world burn?
How does the 14th Amendment apply to Congress being unreasonable? Is he going to make us all slaves?
Of course he will.
It’s 1870 all over again.
Given? Typical idiot. Not TAKING thier money isn’t giving.
Although the 14th amendment says that the debts of the United States must be paid, it says that Congress must pass laws to enforce that.
The President is mentioned nowhere in the 14th amendment.

If Markey/Biden gets away with that crap, the House GOP should do appropriations based on the 10th Amendment. Christ, they should be doing that anyway.
“Katy Tur Reports”
Why isn’t it labeled “The Big Rack Report”
[I wish those were brains....]
The 14th Amendment simply means that the validity of the bonds is not a court or legislative issue.
As the Treasury gets funds, the bonds should be paid. Many will get paid late.
The 14th Amendment does not grant the executive branch borrowing power, which is reserved to Congress.
The national debt like credit card debt or mortgage debt.
Is the debt valid? Yes.
Does the debtor have cash on hand? No.
The debt simply won’t get paid on time.
How do you “give” trillions of dollars to people when it’s their money?
So we’ll just toss the constitution aside and do what we want?
That sounds more like a totalitarian government than a nation of free peoples
A trillion dollar platinum coin has no legal value as only Congress has the power to set the legal value of money.
It is lawful for the Treasury to mint such a coin, but Hunter’s child’s mother doesn’t have to accept it as legal tender for child support.
“The national debt like credit card debt or mortgage debt.”
Except for the huge difference that the gov’t can print the money that they use to pay.
Markskyyy the idiot has no idea what “reasonable” means. The bastard thinks it means get the GOP to bend over and drop their drawers.
The debt ceiling law is an enabling act.
The limit is permissive, not restrictive.
