Newly sworn-in Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson (D) welcomed border crossers and illegal aliens to the sanctuary city in his inaugural address on Monday just as black Chicagoans protest illegal immigration flooding their neighborhoods.
Since August 2022, thousands of border crossers and illegal aliens have inundated Chicago — many arriving with illnesses like COVID-19 and without any ties to the city — spurring former Mayor Lori Lightfoot to declare a state of emergency last week.
Already, Chicago officials have opened police stations and abandoned schools to border crossers and illegal aliens, paid for by local taxpayers. Despite Lightfoot saying the city is at a “breaking point,” Johnson said there is more than enough room for border crossers and illegal aliens.
Chicago residents are so fed up with illegal immigration that a group has filed a lawsuit against the city to stop them from housing border crossers and illegal aliens in the South Shore neighborhood.
“It is a slap in the face that we as citizens of the United States of America do not have the resources and support but you’re going to bring people who are not citizens here in our community, in our buildings that we pay taxes for that you took away from us,” one Chicago resident told local media.

The new Red Mayor also wants a tax on financial transactions; if it goes through the Chicago Mercantile Exchange has threatened to leave the city and relocate to a place where there is no such idiotic tax. The Marxist will feign surprise when this happens.

And this expense has to be added to the cost of housing, feeding and medically treating each kid, who, of course hasn’t paid a penny in taxes. In contrast, average Social Security retirement benefit is $22,000 per year, which has to cover housing, food and medical expenses.
And we haven’t begun to tally the cost of the adults (parents? relatives?) each kid is staying with. I have no doubt that even attempting the math is racist and xenophobic, but I’m waiting for this to become a national political issue.

You overlook the fact that there is no Republican party in Chicago. Everything is decided in the primaries.
Johnson is totally beholden to the corrupt Chicago Teachers Union which funded his candidacy and formerly employed him.
The teachers want illegal immigrants because otherwise the Board of Education would be closing more and more schools due to low enrollment. There are fewer school children than in previous generations and those families who can afford private school tuition will not enroll their children in the Chicago Public Schools.
With the poor and the floods of illegals, the Chicago Public Schools would have to shutter many schools. Former Mayor Rahm Emanuel was targeted for political oblivion by the radical teachers’ union because he actually began closing half empty schools.
Few students get any education in the public schools, but the taxpayers are billed to enrich the teachers staffing those schools.
