The Writers Guild of America tweeted Monday night that the board of directors "have voted unanimously to call a strike, effective 12:01 AM, Tuesday, May 2."...The strike means that production on some of your favorite broadcast shows, streaming series and potentially some films will effectively grind to a halt, upending the industry...Late-night talk shows are expected to go dark this week, for example, and NBC's "Saturday Night Live" could nix this weekend's episode.

I’m on my 19th year of never having seen a full episode of any tv show, in case anybody cares.
Oh, what will we ever do?
Movies and TV shows will go unrebooted.
So I’m guessing the trans-gender reboot of Barney Miller is on hold now?
Gutfeld is the #1 rated late night show.
Within a seven day period, Fox will lose #1 Tucker Carlson and #1 Greg Gutfeld!
Yawn.
This could make America and our children a little safer.
Oh gosh not again. More reins of crap I don’t watch
Just watch some of the old original shows most of these Hollywood writer hacks rip off as ‘new ideas.’ :0)
If they can pay the late night hosts millions they can pay the writers.
Tv shows like Seinfeld and Friends a few years ago rented out for $400 to $500 million to be run in syndication.
They should take the opportunity to cancel the late night hosts and bring in you know... funny people that entertain instead of lecture.
The shows are used as propaganda instead of entertainment.
8 episodes is not a season.... 39 then 26 was the norm then 20 then fewer and fewer to 8. The shows are pretty bad overall.
Dreary and dark and whiny for the dramas and comedy is done by rote, just add a laugh track. The tv commercials hardly mention the product but instead talk about feelings.
I watch many shows on the free Pluto tv that have thousands of episodes thru my Roku device so will not miss any new shows not being produced.
There was a good movie in 2016. Patriots Day. Marky Mark
Nothing since
I saw somewhere in queens last week
What was that? Incoherent.
They can try to collect from whoever pays them but they’re doing nothin. Truly. Nothing
AI to the recuse!
That is fantastic news.
Make it permanent.
...........my TV has been sitting in a corner of my closet for many years. One day I UNPLUGGED the power and UNPLUGGED the Cable. Been much happier ever since!
Oh boo hoo.
“One day I UNPLUGGED the power and UNPLUGGED the Cable. Been much happier ever since!”
A wise choice. It’s a liberty-destroying device.
It’s a conduit for the powerful and wealthy:
-Tell you what to think
-Tell you what to do
-Instruct you how to modify your behavior to serve them
-Focus your criticism upon their political, social and economic competitors.
Pluto’s lineup of classics has been expanding.
I found a good 70s British show called The Professionals on there.
A mix of Sandbaggers, Danger Man, The Sweeney, MI5, and maybe early classic Avengers.
