Army aviators, ready to leave the military, are told they owe 3 more years instead

Hundreds of Army aviation officers who were set to leave the military are being held to another three years of service after they say the branch quietly reinterpreted part of their contract amid retention and recruitment issues.

The shift has sparked an uproar among the more than 600 affected active-duty commissioned officers, including some who say their plans to start families, launch businesses and begin their civilian lives have been suddenly derailed.

“We are now completely in limbo,” said a captain who had scheduled his wedding around thinking he would be leaving the military this spring.

That captain and three other active-duty aviation officers who spoke to NBC News spoke on the condition of anonymity out of fear of retaliation.

As part of a program known as BRADSO, cadets commissioning from the U.S. Military Academy or Army Cadet Command from 2008 and 2020 were able to request a branch of their choice, including aviation, by agreeing to serve an additional three years on active duty.

For years, the Army allowed some aviation officers to serve those three years concurrently, and not consecutively, along with their roughly contracted seven or eight years of service.

In a phone call with reporters Thursday, Army officials admitted "errors" in the system, which they noticed a few months ago, led to the discrepancy.

"We are fixing those errors, and we are in communication with the unit leadership and impacted officers," said Lt. Gen. Douglas Stitt, deputy chief of staff of G-1, which is in charge of policy and personnel.

So vote to end the military, but in the meantime enjoy that we aren’t in a war.

Besides the Vietnam debacle, consider this: We went to war in Iraq so that Saudi Arabia wouldn't have to do that themselves. They didn't want a Muslim/Muslim war to taint their image in that region. We had previously agreed to defend Saudi Arabia in exchange for favorable prices and volumes of their oil. Fast forward now to when the government is pushing so hard to eliminate the use of oil, and push us into EVs. Does that respect the purpose of our troop losses in that war? Is it reasonable to expend the blood of our good people just so that another nation could maintain a self-righteous image?

I'm all for a strong military that acts in our actual defense. I am most certainly not in favor of our prime youth being expended for the good of the ruling class and their corporate buddies.

It isn't the military I'd vote to terminate. It would be the non-defense usage of the military by our unscrupulous leaders.

If you see otherwise in my posts, you are reading impaired.

Until you get the elected officials you want you should vote to get rid of such a dark, negative force as you view it.

That is certainly the way it is supposed to work. We all know it doesn't.

I want you to stay safe. Watch your 360. We're proud of you, and hope and pray that you won't be deployed for nonsensical reasons. If you get into a fracas, blow the enemy to hell.

If you are commissioned Regular Army, you’re free to submit your resignation any time all obligations have been served (helicopter flight school — IERW — incurs a 6-year obligation) but release from active duty (REFRAD) is still entirely at the discretion of the service.

You can resign twice a day every day, but if you’re RA, they don’t have to let you go.

In some uniformed services it’s called “OBLISERV” and it’s usually attached to training above and beyond the base level, any school any MOS - OBLISERV is attached at the end or completion of training to your original contract or Commission.

Commissioned officers serve at the pleasure of the president of the United States and I have documentation in the form of a USNI article that explains the whole process and history behind that phraseology.

“They are making them stay because they plan on using them for their idiotic foolish neocon nonsense wars.

This should not be legal. They probably are getting recruits not up to the task.”

They are making them stay because they obligated for an additional 3 years to enhance their assignment.

What “real” conflict?

The national government won’t protect our own borders.

On the other hand they seem inclined to getting American troops involved in decades long open ended wars with no clearly defined goals, on the other side of the world, for no particular compelling reason that anyone can divine. Rest assured though, the ROI will be much different when the leftists deploy the military on US soil, and you just know they can’t wait for that.

Of that I have no doubt whatsoever

Austin is trying to cover Biden’s Ass until he is re-elected by vote fraud.

One of Obama's peeps, one of many "examples" of who is really running the White Hut.

When the left turns the guns of the military on to U.S. citizens, it will be a free fire zone. The “soldiers” will be foreigners who have been allowed to cross our border illegally, plus those who have been flown here already by the Bidet regime. There will be no court martials or grand jury investigations for innocent people who are murdered by Bidet’s “soldiers.”
