Tucker Carlson 'blindsided by Fox News firing that was a direct order from Rupert Murdoch after Jan 6 conspiracy claims and producer's lawsuit alleging bullying, sexism and anti-Semitism'
Daily Mail ^ | April 24, 2023 | Jen Smith, Josh Boswell

Tucker Carlson was blindsided by his firing from Fox News and learned of it on Monday morning shortly before it was announced, sources tell DailyMail.com.

Even some of his closest staff were unaware that his show had been axed, reading about it for the first time on Twitter.

'No one I know was told about it beforehand. We were blindsided,’ one senior staffer who works closely with Tucker’s show, Tucker Carlson Tonight, told DailyMail.com.

Another insider revealed he still has no idea why he was let go so suddenly, and that many staffers are now questioning whether it's part of a wider plan by the Murdoch family to sell the media behemoth.

'Tucker still hasn’t been given any indication of why he was taken off the air. His producer Justin wells was fired too.

'We believe Rupert wants to sell the company and it’s harder to find an institutional buyer with Tucker as the main star.

'Tucker gone makes it more of an appealing media company to buy,' the source said.

The Los Angeles Times reports that it was a combination of Carlson's coverage of the January 6 riot and a recent lawsuit filed by Abby Grossberg, a former producer, who says she was subjected to sexism, bullying and anti-Semitism while working on the show.

What the TV news cycle says is “truth” is considered truth these days.

Hence, what is considered “misinformation” about issues like Covid-19 and the 2020 election. And our *courts* more or less consider the TV news cycle to be our collective “truth.”

I agree. Makes you wonder if getting rid of Carlson (and maybe Hannity) was part of the settlement. What a bunch of chickensh*ts they are. Had they gone to trial, perhaps they could have gotten some real stuff through discovery. At any rate, I was conservative long before Fox was invented by the old fart Murdoch, and I will be conservative long after he is dead. Long Live the Republic!

The uniparty is losing control both internally and globally. They will burn the world down before they give up their privileged and lucrative control.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/did-tucker-preview-fox-exit-at-heritage-this-weekend

EXCERPT:

“You look around and you see so many people break under the strain under the downward of whatever this is that we are going through. And you look with disdain and sadness as you see people you know become quislings. You see them revealed as cowards. You see them going along with the new, new thing which is clearly a poisonous thing, a silly thing. You know, saying things you know they don’t believe because they want to keep their jobs. If there’s a single person in this room who hasn’t seen that through George Floyd, COVID, and the Ukraine war, raise your hand? Oh nobody? Right. You all know what I’m talking about.”

“And you’re so disappointed in people. You know you are. And you realize that the herd instinct is maybe the strongest instinct. I mean it may be stronger than the hunger and sex instincts actually. The instinct which again is inherent to be like everybody else and not to be cast out of the group not to be shunned, that’s a very strong impulse in all of us from birth. And it takes over unfortunately in moments like this and it’s harnessed in fact by bad people in moments like this to produce uniformity and you see people going along with this and you lose respect for them and that has certainly happened to me at scale over the past three years.”

“…But there is a countervailing force at work always. There’s a counterbalance to the badness, it’s called goodness, and you see it in people. So for every 10 people who are putting he and him in their electronic JPMorgan email signatures there’s one person who’s like, ‘No I’m not doing that. Sorry I don’t want to fight but like I’m not doing that it’s a betrayal of what I think is true. It’s a betrayal of my conscience, of my faith, of my sense of myself, of my dignity as a human being, of my autonomy. I am not a slave. I am a free Citizen and I’m not doing that and there’s nothing you can do to me to make me do it and I hope it won’t come to that but if it does come to that, here I am. Here I am.’”

“...There’s in one case someone who I made fun of on television and certainly in my private life in vulgar ways who was really the embodiment of everything I found repulsive, who in the middle of COVID decided, ‘No I’m not going along with this.’”

“And once you say one true thing, and stick with it, all kinds of other true things occur to you. The truth is contagious. Lying is, but the truth is as well. And the second you decide to tell the truth about something, you are filled with this, I don’t want to get supernatural on you, but you are filled with this power from somewhere else.”

“Try it. Tell the truth about something. You feel it every day. The more you tell the truth, the stronger you become. That’s completely real and it’s measurable in the way that you feel.”

“And of course the opposite is also true. The more you lie the weaker and more terrified you become. We all know that feeling when you lie about something and all of a sudden you’re a prisoner of that lie and you are diminished by it. You are weak and afraid.”

“Drug and alcohol use is the same way it makes you weak and afraid. But you look around and you see these people and some of them really have paid a heavy price for telling the truth and they are cast out of their groups whatever those groups are but they do it.”

“Anyway, I look on at those people with the deepest possible admiration. I’m paid to do that. I face no penalty. Someone came up to me, ‘You’re so brave.’ Really?!?! I’m a talk show host. It’s like I can’t have any opinion I want. That’s my job. That’s why they pay me. It’s not brave to tell the truth on a cable news show and if you’re not doing that you’re really an idiot, you’re really craven. You’re lying on television? Why would you do that? You’re literally making a living to say what you think and you can’t even do that please.”

“Who is next, Sean Hannity?”

Lol

Clumsy Sean speech patterns, thet will keep him around .

He will toe the line cause he’s close to Fox Fave Geraldo w Ford Jr and Senior Political Pundit Juan Williams.

Brit Hume is cute, doesn’t know OVER half of Americans prefer Trump.

Smart guy to kiss up to management. But he believes it.

He’s been Commie blue pilled.

If they truly believed the election was stolen or rigged, its not a “lie”, but a mistaken belief. Lying requires that you know the truth and either fail to state it, or state something different. Whether the belief of a stolen election was valid is irrelevant, as long as they believe it, it’s still not a “lie”. THE INTENT MATTERS.

> Who is next, Sean Hannity? Gutfeld?

Anything’s possible. My guess is they’re going to axe everybody that criticized Fox management in the Dominion papers, and the most conservative voices.

Get ready for NewsMax to be the primary source for conservative news on cable!

Who’da thunk a media company would be more valuable with the largest revenue-generating star gone?!

Doesn't really make a lot of sense does it? Plus they signed him to a new deal and he's producing original content for their streaming platform. The streaming may not be doing all that well but that's besides the point. They have a lot invested in him. And he lives in DC (or the area - I know the mob chased him from his home in 2020 not sure if he moved back) so he's got a particular ear to the DC chatter.

He's really the only show I watch on Fox. Hannity had grown tiresome for me many years ago. I do have Fox Business on when I'm getting ready in the morning but it's not that great a show. It's got a lot of politics on it for a business channel.

Wife and I were considering dropping the cable. Maybe now is the time. Month is ending, time to cancel.

Tucker I'm sure will do fine, maybe end up with his own streaming platform/podcast.

I think Tucker, Trump and Musk should get together. Start a new media company. Would kill Fox.

Not sure, but eventually he’ll be CEO/President of Fox News. ****

Naw, he will keep reporting.

Elon will appoint a good CEO after he buys FOX.

Freepers - TURN OFF FOX NEWS. Do not watch it ever again. Anything you can get there, you can get elsewhere. I haven’t watched it since 11/4/202 and I do not miss it. An hour or NEWSMAX in the morning, or my local news station and a few checks here at FR or at CFP during the day and I’m caught up. FNC repeats the same stories over and over all day, anyway.

Nah, you don’t kill off your stud before you sell the stable. If Fox News was for sale they’d let the buyer do the firing.

I’m leery of these lawsuits, too. But we don’t know the facts until we know the facts. All a complaint is is an allegation. If Murdoch fired him solely on account of allegations, he’s a poor employer indeed. I have no love for Carlson, although I used to be a fan. But I also have no patience for reflexively laying on ad hominem aspersions of a complainant’s motives. We’ll know the truth about this lawsuit by and by. Tucker Carlson will have no problem providing for his family, even if he has to dig into his savings. If Murdoch won’t have him, somebody else will. Fox isn’t the only conservative outlet on TV anymore.

Russel Brand speaks his mind on Youtube, Instagram... not sure if he’s got a podcast but probably does. I don’t watch it but occassionally someone sends me a link to something particularly interesting and he does have a clear way of seeing the world.

Not surprisingly Tucker had Brand on his show a couple weeks ago. Tucker can do what Brand and Rogan (and Stern) did. I’m sure he’ll find a bigger following than Alex Jones has and somehow Alex Jones makes a decent living. We’ll see how it shakes out but his firing is very surprising, and extremely disappointing to me. I really don’t think I have a reason to keep my cable subscription anymore.
