Tucker Carlson was blindsided by his firing from Fox News and learned of it on Monday morning shortly before it was announced, sources tell DailyMail.com.
Even some of his closest staff were unaware that his show had been axed, reading about it for the first time on Twitter.
'No one I know was told about it beforehand. We were blindsided,’ one senior staffer who works closely with Tucker’s show, Tucker Carlson Tonight, told DailyMail.com.
Another insider revealed he still has no idea why he was let go so suddenly, and that many staffers are now questioning whether it's part of a wider plan by the Murdoch family to sell the media behemoth.
'Tucker still hasn’t been given any indication of why he was taken off the air. His producer Justin wells was fired too.
'We believe Rupert wants to sell the company and it’s harder to find an institutional buyer with Tucker as the main star.
'Tucker gone makes it more of an appealing media company to buy,' the source said.
The Los Angeles Times reports that it was a combination of Carlson's coverage of the January 6 riot and a recent lawsuit filed by Abby Grossberg, a former producer, who says she was subjected to sexism, bullying and anti-Semitism while working on the show.

For many years my specialty was making IBM Mainframes and their DB2 Database run fast without purchasing more expensive IBM hardware. This entailed going into the programs and code of others and pointing out how it could be better designed, better coded.
In IT jargon it was my job to call their baby ugly. I fully expected that at some point someone would get me fired. When it happens, I am not blindsided. I know it is coming. It is my job to expect it.
I see other consultants with the same role. At Discover Card a long line of employees and consultants gave good advice and were fired because one powerful Business Analyst and one manager didn’t like their advice. I lucked out and came in just after that manager was fired. I made exactly the same recommendations my predecessors had made. This time they were accepted.
You can’t get blindsided if you are competent in your job. Coming with competency is the knowledge that some people can not handle the truth and will get you canned.
I’m thinking one reason Tucker had to go was that he’s a lighting rod for telling the truth about some of the biggest issues we have.
FNC hates truth they would rather ignore it whether its voter fraud of the phony vaxs which are killing people left and right.
They had to realize that Tucker would never go that route and sooner or late the company would be sued for what he was saying and even if he was right it would cost millions in leagal fees to defend him.
I appreciate your comments, FRiend.
Any Real TV news is now a distant memory of our past!:
Your actual viewership on television is no longer important! Nor is it counted nor wanted by TV’s elite owners.
The Elite State now controls and runs the media.
Actual voting and TV watching are no longer necessary to win elections or watching TV news!
If you complain about any obvious election theft, you are now labeled as an Election Denier!
So, now the Elite State decides our election winners/losers, and you don’t even need to vote!
Real TV news is now a just memory of the past! Like real voting for your real candidate!
“...Tucker Carlson will have no problem providing....”
LOL
When he gets settled he will make several tines the money he was making at Fox. Sorry to disappoint you.
“Sorry to disappoint you.”
What disappointment? I wish him only good.
Then how could you be so wrong about his future?
Oh, never mind...
He will have no trouble providing for his family. Maybe he’ll become as rich as Rush Limbaugh off his podcast. Maybe he’ll dig into his savings or liquidate some stocks, or go find work on the docks. But as annoying as I find his laugh and his congenital shallowness, as a person, he’s a keeper, and he’ll have no trouble providing. I don’t care for what Fox did to him, and it’s hurt them more than it did him, and I don’t care for him as a pundit because of the aforementioned laugh and shallowness. But his future is a good one, whatever it might be.
Incidentally, it seems that all the important people in conservative circles have mannerisms that are off-putting. Greg Gutfeld laughs uproariously at his own jokes. Trump repeats the same phrases consecutively for emphasis, but without adding meaning. Bongino’s New York accent is too thick. So’s Curtis Sliwa’s. It sounds affected. I have a bit of a New York accent myself, but it’s something I try to minimize, not emphasize, but find myself blurting out “fine, y’self?” when somebody asks me how I’m doing. And Tucker Carlson has that Versailles courtier’s laugh that grates. Sean Hannity talks too slow. As for the late Wm. F. Buckley, he did not sound so hoity toity in real life, just on TV. The only one with a great voice and mannerisms was Rush Limbaugh, and he’s gone to that sound booth in the sky.
Hannity talks too slow?
Lol.
He talks too MUCH!
You seem a bit opinionated and judgemental...
I don’t know about your future, but you seem to have cornered the market on shallowness.
Really?! I’m shallow?! An insult directed at mois?! Oooh, goody. Let’s start a flame war! I do so love flame wars! I do I do I do I do...nah. Have a nice life. Whatever.
You dissed a bunch of people and called Tucker shallow.
The person that brought more truth to us than any other fox pundit.
And still think Carlson may have money problems.
Sorry I don’t do flame wars, you’ll have a to find someone else.
I like to debate, but not with cut and paste flamers.
You totally mis-interpreted everything I said, except one thing. Tucker is shallow. Sorry you’re so sold on him, but I’m not. As for the rest, believe whatever you want. Go Flame Yourself.

Don’t worry, no one will confuse you for Dan or Curtis...they are men who are comfortable with their manhood.
Tucker Carlson has that Versailles courtier’s laugh that grates. Sean Hannity talks too slow. As for the late Wm. F. Buckley, he did not sound so hoity toity toilet-y?
in real life, just on TV -more flames
Consevative men seem to really trigger you
You used to diss Limbaugh , but that was he was alive...
Your big guy blames everything on whites and PANDERS to blacks, you gonna vote for him again?——oops sorry I flamed you, GUILTY!
I thought we scared all snowflakes off to their safe places...you are no one in particular, but kind of fun!
Your reflexive reaction to any dissent from your personal tastes or beliefs is to take it as a personal afront. You could have presented instances of Tucker Carlson’s profound insights, but instead you write “flame”.
The criticisms that I mentioned are valid criticisms. But I still love Trump and still watch Gutfeld, because despite their obvious flaws as public speakers, they have something to say. They do not “trigger” me any more than you do.
This is why I cannot engage with you, and present instances of Tucker’s shallowness, because it’s a waste of time. You’re an intellectual gelding (now THAT is a personal affront, for your future references, NOT disagreeing with another or critiquing their heroes). The only difference between you and a left wing snowflake who still treasures his ‘participation trophies’ from kindergarten is that you purport to have conservative values. I’ll take your word for it. But you’re still an intellectual gelding. Read WB Yeats, Leaders of the Crowd.
I remain, “shallowly” yours,
E5
‘bye.
Missed this.

Y-you mean, by overemphasizing or faking an accent, you “prove” your “manhood”? OK. Let’s have a go at it, then, mayt. Just come in from down under, so ah did. Fancy some ‘roo meat? Bagged this un’ in the outback, still fresh.—WAIT! THIS IS WRONG! Kangaroo meat isn’t kosher! Oy vey! vat haf I done?
U wanted flame
I showed you flames.
Maybe I’ll read your new screeds tamorra.
Lol they faking it?
Tell them that.
*boring*
