Why anyone would open any business in downtown Portland is beyond me.

I wondered why in the world Shake Shack would build a restaurant in Portland, but then it occurred to me that they must be trying to improve their ESG rating.

I wonder if they'll rethink their Wokeness now.

Shake Shack culinary director Mark Rosati hinted that the Portland location will have some exclusive menu items up its sleeve, but those have yet to be revealed. “Coming into a city like this with an incredible culinary scene, we’re like kids in a candy store,” Rosati says. “If we can do something fun that reflects back our love for Portland on the menu, we’re going to try to.”

What the hell did they expect?! Freakin’ idiots opening up in Portland. Surely they must have noticed other businesses closing down and moving out.

Since it's likely a franchise, someone's taking a gamble.

One thing about it though is that it's likely too expensive for homeless to shop there but not so expensive that discerning diners would look at it (and be turned off by the neighborhood denizens).

It's likely a sign of the decline of Portland: a downgrade from a restaurant with waitstaff to a "fast casual" restaurant that also makes food to go for delivery.

Shake Shack is woke. They should be a good fit.

They could have contests to see who can break the most glass.

I don’t think investing in Portland right now was a very good idea.
