Hasn't Earth warmed and cooled naturally throughout history?

Yes. Earth has experienced cold periods (informally referred to as “ice ages,” or "glacials") and warm periods (“interglacials”) on roughly 100,000-year cycles for at least the last 1 million years. The last of these ice age glaciations peaked* around 20,000 years ago. Over the course of these cycles, global average temperatures warmed or cooled anywhere from 3° to perhaps as much as 8° Celsius (5°-15° Fahrenheit). It was partly through their attempts to understand what caused and ended previous ice ages that climate scientists came to understand the dominant role that carbon dioxide plays in Earth’s climate system, and the role it is playing in current global warming.

Over at least the past million years, glacial and interglacial cycles have been triggered by variations in how much sunlight reaches the Northern Hemisphere in the summer, which are driven by small variations in the geometry of Earth’s axis and its orbit around the Sun. But these fluctuations in sunlight aren’t enough on their own to bring about full-blown ice ages and interglacials. They trigger several feedback loops that amplify the original warming or cooling. During an interglacial,

sea ice and snow retreat, reducing the amount of sunlight the Earth reflects; warming increases atmospheric water vapor, which is a powerful greenhouse gas; permafrost thaws and decomposes, releasing more methane and carbon dioxide; and the ocean warms and releases dissolved carbon dioxide, which traps even more heat. These feedbacks amplify the initial warming until the Earth’s orbit goes through a phase during which the amount of Northern Hemisphere summer sunlight is minimized. Then these feedbacks operate in reverse, reinforcing the cooling trend.

*Correction. An earlier draft mistakenly said that the last of these ice ages ended about 20 thousand years ago. The glaciation phase peaked around that time. The Grindlewald Fluctuation began in 1650 and ended in the early 20th century, and so ALL of our calculations reflect warming from that period.

It takes 100’s, 1000s of years for the ice sheet to move out of Canada.

[[The main difference is that there would be no liberals around to lie about it.]]

I fear that liberals are working out a way to haunt us when their species natutally dies out due to homosexuality, abortion, and trannie obsession. I suspect their invention of ai is their attempt to keep haunting the world after they are gone

Right, it’s not obvious to me that a warmer Earth with thriving plant and animal life is such a bad thing. In fact now that I think about it, I’m not sure that I’ve ever seen a serious analysis of the pros and cons of a warm versus a cool Earth. Bjorn Lomborg kind of goes in that direction in his book where he argues that the cost of stopping global warming would be worse than the global warming itself. But I'd like to see someone give serious treatment to the proposition that global warming is potentially a good thing with real benefits to life on this planet.

Cooling of 5° - 15° Fahrenheit, an ice age it does not make.

Do they even realize how STUPID they sound/are?

Successful for over 10,000 years in “responding
to global warming.

Too Hot? Move north or to the coast. Too cold? Move south. Too much water, move uphill. Just keep your hands out of my wallet. And get India and China in line before you bother me.

Lastly what is normal? Or baseline temp? How will they control the solar activity, the angle of the earth’s axis toward the sun? under and above see volcanic action. If it cools, will we have to drive moire gas powered cars.

"You can still see the ground down glacier boulders in Central Park."

Central Park, was once a community of free blacks called Seneca Village, until Democrat politicians decided they wanted it for a park. In 1825, the landowners sold 200 parcels of land. Two-thirds of the parcels were owned by blacks. The other third were owned by Irish and German immigrants. In 1857 (same year as the Bank Panic occurred), the people living there were told they had to leave by the end of the year. Democrat Fernando Wood (linked to Tammany Hall) was Mayor of New York City at the time. He was in his second term when in 1857, the Republican-controlled NY State Legislature put up Independent candidate Daniel F. Tiemann to run against Wood. Tiemann won by a slim margin. He only served one term, and Wood was re-elected Mayor for a third time in 1860. He went on to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The article at the link provides photos of newspaper headlines regarding the construction of the park. Democrat chicanery is still alive in well today. You can see it in Chicago regarding Barry Soetoro's pResidential Library displacing residents in the area.

THE TRUE STORY OF HOW NEW YORK CITY DISPLACED A BLACK COMMUNITY TO BUILD CENTRAL PARK

I just made it up, because we you see that some individuals post 10 to 20 negative articles a day, you suspect that they must enjoy riling folks up for the number of clicks they can get. That is not much different than a vampire trying to suck the last drop of blood (hope) out of folks that are inundated with bad news. If we try just a little bit, we can find a lot of good to be thankful for.

Meaning with a sentence or two, directing the reader to their blog for more. Then there are those who carelessly copy and paste the first lines of a page, replete with ads and blurb for Facebook etc. Or just to a vid. Thus An exhortation to those who post thread (normally post as much of the meat of the article as allowed, describe videos, etc.)
