There is another article here today with the breathless headline that queers and trans in Florida could “literally” be killed. It is a bill to ordain the death penalty for child sex/pedophilia. Frankly, as much as it disgusts me, I don’t care what adults do with each other in the privacy of their homes, but if you involve minor children, then we have a serious problem. It says that kids under 18 should be able to decide for themselves whether to initiate sexual activity; nothing suggests that it be with someone significantly older. Granted, it doesn’t clarify that it be ONLY with someone of similar age, so I’m not comfortable with it, but there is so much plainly stated evil, that the reaction against this almost seems like a deliberate plot to acquiesce the public to these real evils.
