Welp, there's one more Democrat city losing America's most popular retail chain because they refuse to do anything about crime.
Recently, Walmart closed their last remaining store in the Commie paradise of Portland, and now the retail giant is announcing that they are closing 4 of their 8 stores in the metropolis of Chicago.
Here's Walmart's explanation for why they're closing half of the stores in Chiraq:
The simplest explanation is that collectively our Chicago stores have not been profitable since we opened the first one nearly 17 years ago – these stores lose tens of millions of dollars a year, and their annual losses nearly doubled in just the last five years. The remaining four Chicago stores continue to face the same business difficulties, but we think this decision gives us the best chance to help keep them open and serving the community.
Their losses DOUBLED in just the last five years? Hmm, I wonder what bank-breaking things have happened in the last five years?
It couldn't be that five years ago, in 2018, the City of Chicago artificially increased the minimum wage by nearly 60%, only to continue to increase year after year from that time.
Surely that Democrat policy only made the stores more profitable, right?
And it couldn't have anything to do with the tremendous crime wave that's swept the United States since the George Floyd riots!
Chicago used to be one of the great American cities. Even when it was run by the machine politics of Mayor Daly it wasn't as bad as it is today under Lightfoot and the new mayor Brandon Johnson who will continue bad policy.
All of this is going down in Chicago as the Democrats plan to hold the DNC in the Democrat city.
Maybe it’s for the best that Walmart closes down. Didn’t they destroy Main Street and other mom and pop stores? Isn’t their Made in China merch what’s destroying America?
Their aisles are often disorganized and crammed together and the stores are so ginormous there is no way anyone could watch what’s going on.
I’m too fearful of the zombies that I don’t go in them anymore.
Let them close.
Won't stop it. We were at the local Wally World a couple years ago when an obvious shoplifter was caught trying to sneak stuff through the self checkout. One of the managers that caught her told us that much of the big dollar item theft is by employees - catching shoplifters wasn't the top bar on the Pareto chart.
“..I’m too fearful of the zombies that I don’t go in them anymore....”
I won’t go there by myself anymore. The wife has to be with me because all I see is this gorgeous “target rich zombie environment”, and she keeps me from “interfacing” with em.
>>Which means the hoodrats are coming to your nice Chicagoland suburb to do their shopping.<<
Do you mean their SHOPLIFTING?
30. Confuscious say re elections: crap in, crap out, more crap in!
Akshley, I knew that. Go back and read what I wrote again.
If Chicago had another big fire would anyone show up?.
If Chicago had another big fire would anyone notice?......................
True only the smell of the bodies would give it away.
I yearn for headlines like “Walmart to Close 20 Stores due to Black People”.
Wouldnt that be grand!!??
“It’s going to become a shoplifting desert!”
LOL!
Thanks for the mention. It is interesting that this story element was not about either growth or prosperity, but merely an ultimately inept attempt to stop the economic decline. I very much suspect that many mini-directives changing measures and definitions of economic activity in these last years has been about obscuring a similar decline, meaning inflation eating away at the nation. One only need consider that one country has "Hollywood" and another makes armaments in massive amounts, and the "Hollywood" and it's "wag the Dog" is supposed to be the stronger. I refer to Shadowstats rather than the MSM as a reliable source.
