Biden is pushing his expected 2024 campaign kickoff even later in the year — and may even delay it until this fall, according to a new report.
Advisers and close allies of the oldest-ever president told Axios they don’t expect Biden to formally announce his candidacy before this summer — despite their initial suggestions late last year that he would announce soon after the start of 2023.
The second political fundraising quarter ends June 30, giving Biden plenty of time to rake in donations before an announcement — and some members of his team are pushing to hold the launch until sometime in the third quarter, according to the outlet.
If Biden decides to wait until then, he would be breaking with precedent set by his four immediate predecessors, all of whom launched their re-election campaigns in the second quarter of their third year in office.
Donald Trump announced his re-election campaign on June 18, 2019; Biden’s former boss Barack Obama announced his bid for a second term on April 4, 2011; George W. Bush declared he would seek a second term on May 16, 2003, and Bill Clinton announced his re-election campaign on April 14, 1995.
The report comes amid speculation Biden may eventually sit out the 2024 race

I agree with another poster that it COULD be to keep the other candidates on the sidelines, but it’s also possible that his team is hoping that a new strain of something will surface, and he can once again “campaign” from his basement.
(Since we know if he shows up for a rally somewhere, only 6 people show up, and that’s embarrassing)

Biden has to remodel his basement before the announcement, as he will be spending a lot of campaign time there (the, ahem, fix being in).
From the day he took office has has acted like he had absolutely no worries about a second term. The ruin he has caused with not a thought about the misery he has brought to most of the country makes you wonder. He either believes they have the cheating so baked in that he is a lock or he really has no intention of running again. “Dr”. Jill rather likes being first lady so I think it’s the former.
How can these swine collect campaign contributions without have announced that they are seeking office (i.e., campaigning)?
It starting to remind me of 1940, when nobody was sure if FDR was going to run or not, literally until a few weeks before the Rat Convention.
Meanwhile, on the Republican side, they installed Wilkie, to make sure both candidates were Interventionists, and shut the Isolationists out.
