Donald Trump Jr Reveals He Signed Check in Alleged Hush Money Scheme

Donald Trump Jr. has said he signed a check used as evidence by prosecutors in the hush money investigation that resulted in his father's historic indictment.

Former President Donald Trump pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts of falsifying business records as part of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's probe, which focused on a $130,000 sum that Trump's former attorney Michael Cohen paid adult film star Stormy Daniels to keep an alleged affair she claimed she had with Trump a secret ahead of the 2016 Election.

Trump has denied having an affair with Daniels, and has accusing prosecutors of engaging in a politically-motivated witch-hunt.

The actual payment to Daniels is not illegal, but Trump is accused of falsifying business records while reimbursing Cohen for the money, which was listed in Trump Organization records as legal fees. Prosecutors allege the money paid to Cohen was a violation of federal election laws.

It’s still a nonexistent crime.

And I agree.

The Democrats have had a talent at taking perfectly legal actions that Trump has done and making them look illegal.

There's nothing illegal about paying hush money. It is a gift, and nothing more. As long as the recipient reports it to the IRS, it's fine.

Now, it might be unseemly, but this doesn't make it illegal. Politicians do it all the time. Indeed, Bill Clinton's first White House campaign had Hillary running around Arkansas paying off all the women Clinton had slept with.

No, this entire sham is a complete circus. Yet, Bragg is still likely to secure a conviction in a jury full of partisan leftist New Yorkers who hate Trump just for waking up in the morning. It'll get tossed on appeal but the damage will be done.

Trump will win the GOP nomination and then get soundly beaten in the General Election because of the scandals and baggage. Exactly what the Democrats are aiming for.

No, - he paid the idiot street punk moron atty cohen for his business loan he made to pay to NDA applicant and affiant. Which was in no way illegal. How many NDAs are made to other extortionists in the USA or even in Manhatten? Get it right. You can’t be that dim, unless trying to continue a narrative, right? Gagline indeed, no comedy in any of it.

Isn’t that kind of what I was saying? No law was broken..ergo they have no case. So it is irrelevant if he signed checks.

Actually doesn’t this exonerate Trump? I mean Trump Jr would just need to say he did it on his own behest. Trump (senior) didn’t have any involvement/knowledge of it.

If Jr. signed the actual check doesn’t that potentially throw another technical wrench in the gears of the prosecution?

Also, Trump never signed the NDA either. Only Cohen and Daniels signed it, and she sued in 2018, to have the NDA declared null and void because he hadn't sign it. She lost that case too.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised. Or a California transplant. They’ve infested the whole state now.

actually concerned about this because the checks were cut after Trump was in office

if you recall Flynn was pressured to accept a plea after they threatened to go after his son

by any means necessary

Actually, she essentially won that suit. The NDA was deemed unenforceable by the court. Trump's lawyers claimed she hadn't technically prevailed, since the case was dismissed. The judge disagreed, saying that voiding the NDA was a win for Daniels, and ordering Trump to pay her $44,000 legal fees. Daniels lost another case against Trump and was ordered to pay his $300,000 legal fees. Apparently Trump's lawyers are a lot more expensive than Avenatti.

I’m sure Pres Trump was in th oval office as President when these checks were signed which means the election was over and couldn’t be election interference.

Nothing burger, since Cohen testified in 2019 that Trump Jr was “Executive 2” in his plea deal, and signed the checks. “Executive 1” was Weisselberg and “the corporation” was The Trump Foundation.

Except, Cohen recommended a conversation between himself and Trump discussing the payments.
