President Trump’s campaign has alleged that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) may be playing games with his constituents as he is reportedly planning on a presidential-like campaign travel schedule over the next month.
Per the campaign’s statement:
“Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is preparing for a month-long, taxpayer-funded presidential campaign schedule paid for by Florida taxpayers, and residents are asking just how much public money is being spent, on which donor planes DeSanctus is traveling, and if any of it will be reported as campaign expenditures.
According to Politico’s Gary Fineout, over the next month DeSantis plans on leaving Florida to campaign in Georgia, Pennsylvania, New York, Tennessee, Michigan, Ohio, New Hampshire, Utah, Texas, and even Israel. All this travel occurs while the Florida Legislature is in-session, and before DeSantis has formed a campaign committee to pay for his travel. This means Florida taxpayers are on the hook for the bill.
Questions are also being asked about which donor planes DeSanctimonious plans on flying to visit these nine states and one foreign country, and who is footing the bill for these in-kind campaign contributions.”
This latest political attack on DeSantis comes as President Donald Trump derided the Florida governor’s “childish” foreign policy rhetoric, lambasting him as a “neo-con” in the vein of Mitt Romney.
“Those such as Mitt Romney and Ron DeSantis — very much alike — who insist on arrogantly treating Russia as deeply inferior to the other nations of the world, with no history or culture or pride, are not only ignorant and foolish, but their attitude makes it impossible to negotiate peace,” he stated in a policy video. “Absolutely impossible.”
Regarding DeSantis’s alleged upcoming travel plans, the Trump campaign further noted:
“In recent weeks, Gov. DeSantis has used taxpayer dollars to travel around the country for his 2024 presidential campaign, including to early voting states of Iowa and Nevada. DeSantis’ gubernatorial office, however, refuses to say how much in taxpayer money has been spent to fund these travels. Worse yet, DeSantis is profiting personally on some of this travel via book sales, meaning Florida taxpayers are paying DeSanctus to make money at their expense.”
Since November 2022, President Trump has gained massive support in the 2024 primary presidential polls.
In fact, in a poll conducted in March by Emerson College, Trump leads DeSantis in Florida as the preferred GOP primary nominee, with 47 percent of Floridian support against the governor’s 44 percent.
governors travel all the time to different states for different reasons
Maybe Floriduh should withhold DeSantis’ pay while he’s out of the state campaigning and doing nothing for the state and its people.
This is one of the things the “resign-to-run” law is trying to prevent.
“Trump leads DeSantis in Florida as the preferred GOP primary nominee, with 47 percent of Floridian support against the governor’s 44 percent.”

If he can’t even poll better than Trump in his own state he’s not a viable candidate. The longer this charade goes on the more I’ve come to dislike DeSantis.

Valid question.
ALL it takes is some answers
You from Pennsylvania. Lol. Take care of your own failed state. Florida is more than fine.
Says the DS’s drama queen.
When he announces (if), the numbers will be 65-35 DeSantis.
Comparing DeSantis to Romney is plainly ridiculous.
DeSantis got rid of a corrupt prosecutor. Trump appointed two of them.
Ha dream on.
Coronavirus: Trump signs into law largest democratic bailout in US history
This is a main reason that it is unwise to try to be a Governor and run for POTUS at the same time. It just looks bad.
De Santis should finish his second term and then run in 28.
I know even Kasich won Ohio...
There is no math, anywhere where Trump is not the nominee... short of a major black swan event.
Establishment is going to go as crazy as the dems did in 2016 trying to stop him... but there is no math that gets you there.
Lol indeed.
I am no more responsible for Pennsylvania’s failures than you are responsible for Florida’s successes.
Direct farm aid has climbed each year of Trump’s presidency, from $11.5 billion in 2017 to more than $32 billion this year — an all-time high, with potentially far more funding still to come in 2020, amounting to about two-thirds of the cost of the entire Department of Housing and Urban Development and more than the Agriculture Department’s $24 billion discretionary budget, according to a POLITICO analysis. But lawmakers have taken a largely hands-off approach, letting the department decide who gets the money and how much.
The massive payments have been a political boon to Trump in farm country — he tweeted in January that he hoped the money would be “the thing they will most remember” — but risk creating a culture of dependency, as farmers and ranchers work the bonus subsidies into their financial plans when making large, up-front investments in seed, feed and farm machinery.
Yet Trump is running scared, bashing DeSantis at every turn (unlike, say, Nikki Haley, who he clearly isn't worried about).
Maybe Trump doesn't believe these polls that have him trouncing DeSantis? He sure isn't acting like it. He's leveling more fire on DeSantis, the most successful conservative governor in the country, than he ever has against Joe Biden.
Trump’s TV ads being run against DeSantis are using Democrat talking points! (i.e. DeSantis wants to cut Social Security and Medicare). SS and Medicare are teetering on bankruptcy and at least DeSantis wants to explore options to put the programs back on solid financial footing.
Trump’s scorched Earth attacks on the GOP’s brightest rising star are disgusting. Notice he isn’t denigrating Nikki Haley. He wants her to stay in and pick off 5 - 7% of the primary vote so he can squeak by with 35% plurality wins in the early GOP primaries.
Trump would have no current legal cloud hanging over him if he hadn’t paid off a porn actress and a Playboy playmate. Trump has now lost in three straight election cycles (2018, 2020 and 2022). Too many Freepers seemed content to make it four.
Name calling (”desanctimonious”) and hair splitting from the Trump campaign. They are making the same type of hair splitting distinctions between what is and what is not a campaign expenditure that Bragg is trying to use against Trump.
“There is no math, anywhere where Trump is not the nominee... short of a major black swan event.”

Exactly. DeSantis himself must see the numbers which makes me wonder why he is so insistent to jump his place in line. I guess all the establishment money sent his way was just too much to resist.
