‘Country Music Is Dead’ Trends After Kelsea Ballerini’s CMT Awards Performance Goes Terribly Wrong
RNN ^ | 04-04-2023 | Peter Partoll

Despite the immoral rot that has set into our society, there was one area of popular culture that was long considered a relative haven for conservatives.

Country music, with much of its emphasis on God, family and hard work, has been seen as a safe harbor amid the explicit wickedness that now dominates most of American entertainment.

Unfortunately, the CMT Music Awards on Sunday night suggest those days might be over.

Singer Kelsea Ballerini’s performance of “If You Go Down (I’m Goin’ Down Too)” featured drag queens as backup dancers amid LGBT “pride” rainbow lights.

This was apparently a protest against a new Tennessee law that bans transgender surgeries for minors and puts restrictions on adult-oriented drag shows to prevent children from being exposed to them.

The world needs fun music. He’s also done some surf music and rock and roll medleys.

Yeah, it seems that Petty was into the lifestyle considering the drama that ensued after he died and some of the stuff that his daughter said. One can’t blame her for being a little bit pissed at some of the opportunistic Hollywood types.

Unfortunately Petty was not the sharpest crayon in the box re politics or economics. He wouldn’t have fit in well here at FR, suffice to say.

He was a great pop/rock songwriter, though. Each song was unique and possibly even each in a different key.

It seems the French Family Band has come along at just the right time.
They had their Opry debut last week.

Never really warmed up to the rhinestone getups of the sixties country stars. Looked what Madison avenue thought country stars should look.

Music was good, really liked Marty Robbins.

And of course Tennessee Ernie Ford:

“Some people say a man is made outta mud
A poor man’s made outta muscle and blood
Muscle and blood and skin and bones
A mind that’s a-weak and a back that’s strong
You load 16 tons, what do you get?
Another day older and deeper in debt
St. Peter, don’t you call me ‘cause I can’t go
I owe my soul to the company store”

This is when country was the working man’s blues.

Not “party, party, party on the beach”

Guess they can’t write about the grind of working 8 hours in a cubicle shuffling papers for”The Man”

I suppose this would be a fitting epitaph for modern country music.

Neither heard much about his politics but figured he leaned to the liberal side.
At least he wasn’t as obnoxious or hypocritical as Bruce Springsteen whose neither had a blue collar job in his whole life.
Petty may even had paid his taxes and not set up a fake farm to reduce his New Jersey property taxes.

This is what Bing AI said>>>>>

I found an article that says Garth Brooks hosted the November 1999 episode of Saturday Night Live, throwing on a wig and performing in character come musical break time1. However, I couldn’t find any evidence that Garth Brooks has ever done an album cover in semi-drag/in make up/wig.

It’s important to note that Garth Brooks is a longtime supporter of the LGBTQ community and has been an ally for years. He even co-hosted the ACM Awards with Dolly Parton in May 20232.

I thought they were dead.

Sadly Mama Judd offed herself.

Merle Haggard George Jones and Randy Travis were the last greats. Still a few around but you will have to find them on YouTube, the woke labels of today won't touch them.

Natalie Maines was and is the lead singer of the Dixie Chicks. Top group in the 90’s. Natalie at a concert in London said, “ashamed the President of the United States is from Texas,” referring to George W. Bush. CW stations wouldn’t their song and they faded out of the top tier business.
Kelsea Ballerini can take her songs on the drag queen circuit. going the Dixiw Chick way.

Garth performed with a wig when he did the “Chris Gaines” persona thing.
