‘Country Music Is Dead’ Trends After Kelsea Ballerini’s CMT Awards Performance Goes Terribly Wrong

Despite the immoral rot that has set into our society, there was one area of popular culture that was long considered a relative haven for conservatives.

Country music, with much of its emphasis on God, family and hard work, has been seen as a safe harbor amid the explicit wickedness that now dominates most of American entertainment.

Unfortunately, the CMT Music Awards on Sunday night suggest those days might be over.

Singer Kelsea Ballerini’s performance of “If You Go Down (I’m Goin’ Down Too)” featured drag queens as backup dancers amid LGBT “pride” rainbow lights.

This was apparently a protest against a new Tennessee law that bans transgender surgeries for minors and puts restrictions on adult-oriented drag shows to prevent children from being exposed to them.

I have been noticing the wokeness for a little while now. During a country music special recently, the country stars were all sobbing over George Floyd. Every country music show has to have some blacks in it now, even if they’re not country singers. Obviously to prove country music is not racist.

I thought Dolly Parton was one of the more sane country stars. But recently she performed a song about kicking Satan’s butt. The background singers were all dressed in choir robes and sang about how bad Satan is, etc. Each and every choir member was female and/or a person of color. Oh, but there WAS one white male in the number. Yep...he played Satan.

Go woke, go broke. Country fans will leave in disgust.

Didn’t Garth perform at Biden’s administration?

Country music died in the mid 70s.

With one exception... Alan Jackson.

“Garth Brooks was the beginning of the end.”

He was the first country artist to wear a wireless microphone by his face. Like Madonna was doing. I thought it was gay.

Didn’t Garth do an album/album cover in semi-drag/in make up/wig?

I may have him confused with some other tool.

That would have been the great rock songwriter Tom Petty, RIP.

Speaking of a good example thereof, check out Shane Smith and the Saints out of Austin, TX.

Billed as a “Country” act. They had to have been the last “Country” act that Tom Petty saw before he made that observation.

We saw Junior live at the Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa.

They did a nice, fun, what I would call modern country show. It was fun, people two-stepping and not taking anything too serious.

Of course Junior was playing his custom made “steel-git”, playing lead guitar and then flipping it over and playing steel guitar. His wife playing rhythm was/is cute and cheerful.

Nothing pretentious about it. Just fun music.

As long as people buy what is being sold it doesn’t matter how outraged someone is.

I’ll have to check them out.

Too bad about Petty. Sex, drugs and rock n roll doesn’t make for longevity.

Unless you’re Keith Richards...
