NASHVILLE, Tenn.—The Nashville Christian school shooter “clearly” attempted to enter classrooms that were barricaded, the man who led a school shooting training with teachers and staff at The Covenant School last year told The Epoch Times on Wednesday.
Brink Filder is president of Defend Systems, a Nashville active shooter training company that contracted with the school for training sessions. He said on Wednesday he had been at the school all day and did a walkthrough with homicide detectives to answer some questions and gain insight.
“[The shooter] did not get into a single room—and that was not for lack of effort,” he said. “The only victims she got to were in open areas. So, they did exactly what they needed to do in that moment without hesitation and they are responsible for getting those children that survived back to their families.”
Covenant Trained for a Moment That Came
“This one hits home because they are a client of ours,” he said. “We study these events for a living. This one is vastly different—because I knew these people—so we’re just trying to take it all in.”
In 2022, Defend Systems held a “pretty intense” training with school staff. Filder and his staff conducted an active shooter mitigation course at the school in January 2022 and in March 2022 did a medical intervention session with them.

Every church I have visited in the past few years, including my home church, have levels of protection…..( security cameras and armed men on the perimeters and in the congregation)
If an armed person entered our church service, my biggest fear would be the volume of crossfire.
Glad it mitigated a worse tragedy. Something will have to be done about the shooters shooting out glass to enter though. Plus armed guards.
For smaller schools I think armed teachers would work just as well.
An armed guard is going to be completely out of reach for small private schools.
Doors that can not be defeated with bullets and a staff who can fight back would make the target much harder.

Probably because mainstream media journalists and outlets are less than worthless. Don’t forget they spent time worrying about the deceased murderess’ pronouns.
And I believe in cameras..and PA systems.
There are also reports seeping out that the school had a pedophile problem several years ago and that the shooter may have been a student there at the time. The information I read gives the pedophiles name. What isn’t known is was the shooter molested by the pedophile at that time. More to come in the next few days
There are hundreds of well-trained x military men and women that can be utilized as armed school guards. Every school should have one or 2 and pay them well ( instead of books on Tranny’s ) .They would have stopped her as soon as she started for the doors. This is an evil Farking world right now and getting worse. Taking away our God given right to defend ourselves is not the answer.

Training could save many lives but democrats don't care about the lives of children - they need an issue to take guns away from law biding citizens. Goons at the New York Times and Washington Post will ignore this story. Same with the FBI - a group that could do training if they w.eren't butt boys for the democrat party
You are correct, people who were molested as children do have mental health issues, some of which can be severe.
Actually you don't want the word to get out and give potential shooters information that might allow them to get around the training.
Agree, bullet proof glass should be installed. The initial cost will be well worth it. At least two armed security guards, preferably retired military or police. The hardened class room doors worked well but she was still able to enter rooms/offices once inside the school. I would think that an automatic door locking system would be appropriate. It should be activated as soon as a breach is detected on an exterior door.
