Agree, bullet proof glass should be installed. The initial cost will be well worth it. At least two armed security guards, preferably retired military or police. The hardened class room doors worked well but she was still able to enter rooms/offices once inside the school. I would think that an automatic door locking system would be appropriate. It should be activated as soon as a breach is detected on an exterior door.
Our school started with RFID tags on cars. During drop off and pick up we know every student, staff, and teachers car...whether they are there or not. If a non RFID car enters the property, the security team keeps and eye on it.....usually its grandma’s car or someone that occasionally picks up.
Bullet proof glass is not required, though it might help. All that was needed was glass that wouldn’t collapse when shot. There are films that can be applied to windows which will keep the fragments in a sheet, and will resist being pushed through. Might be a fire-code thing though.
