Could his 2024 presidential campaign be over before it even starts?
At this stage in the 2024 GOP presidential primary cycle, the fact that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) hasn't officially declared his candidacy for his party's nomination feels more like an administrative afterthought than a sign of genuine electoral reluctance. With his reputation bolstered by a rare good showing during an otherwise disappointing GOP midterm election, DeSantis has spent the early part of 2023 crisscrossing the country with conspicuous stops in presidential primary hubs like Iowa and New Hampshire, hawking his "make America Florida" memoir, and weighing in on matters ostensibly outside the scope of someone content to stay in state government for long.
Despite his early reputation as a potential Trump-slayer — coupled with a number of encouraging, if largely premature, polls — the light from DeSantis' political star seems to be dimming.
A 'very bad week' for DeSantis supporters
Data analytics firm Morning Consult released an updated 2024 GOP primary tracking poll taken over the weekend of March 17-19 that showed DeSantis tied with his record low. Meanwhile, Trump surged to more than double the Florida governor's support.
DeSantis' slippage comes amidst a particularly rocky stretch of headlines for the governor. He downgraded Ukraine's defense against an ongoing Russian invasion as not part of the "vital national interest" for the United States — a foray into international politics which earned him the surprisingly caustic ire of many of his fellow Republicans. This foreign policy squabble was overtaken by rising questions over DeSantis' personal touch on the campaign trail, and his capacity for retail politics. That was followed by the most open warfare to date between DeSantis and Trump, whose allies blasted the governor as a "weasel"

What if he is MAGA without the recklessness and bombast?
But you can't understand why someone would think you're a Trump fan. Lol. And what does "non inventive" even mean???
But this is my favorite of yours, "You have no proof whatsoever that they (Independents) won’t vote for him." You do realize that every one of Trump's endorsed Senate candidates in districts that were up for grabs (PA, NV, NH, GA, AZ) lost, don't you? And they lost because white suburban women voted against Trump-endorsed candidates.
He's done. He can't win a nation-wide election. So I say again, it's going to take a 2024 presidential-election loss for you people to learn it. So be it.
So does your boy DeSantis who used a 100 year old to promote it by making him take it on TV as he said it was safe. You can see the video on Trump’s truth social account
Does Desanctimonius think thr vaccine is sage or did he try to murder a 100 year old veteran on live TV?
Desanctimonius, like Obama like people to assume things and tries his hardest to to convey his positions where they won’t play well. Thr opposite of Trump

“there’s no fool worse than people that don’t live in florida telling us floridians we’re doing things wrong...
you people look like idiots...”
I have read most of this thread and no one has said a word about Floridians.
Keep showing your ignorance. Thanks for the cooperation.
DeSantis is a Romney clone.
Just try this, then. Find me one sentence that DeSantis has said this last week that is factually incorrect. For comparison, we know Trump misled everyone by saying he was going to be arrested on Tuesday, so find me one thing DeSantis said that was obviously incorrect. If you find something, I’ll admit it. But I haven’t seen anything.
I gave you the answer you didn't want to hear. It wasn't laced with lies, half truths and innuendo like most every single post of yours. It was straight up facts. I thought that is what your 'morals' required.
Simple- people want a FIGHTER against all the Demoncrats, RINOS , Globalists and neo-cons! DeSantis is proving, daily, that he’s only willing to fight one out of the four. Country is long past that strategy and won’t survive by simply a “managing the decline” mindset 🤔
You prefer Tulsi? She prefers $15 minimum wage, supports abortion thru the first 20 weeks of pregnancy, free 4 year college, prison/criminal justice reform and the list goes on and on. I agree with her on most foreign policy issues but that is where it stops.
You can ‘stick a fork in’ DeSantos, he’s done. However, I hope he continues his campaign for the Presidency.
Watching him beat his head against an Orange Brick Wall will be very entertaining.
He’s a politician.....it’s what they do!
....lost because white suburban women voted against Trump-endorsed candidates.
But this election is different.
Those white suburban women are going to vote like their wallets depend on it. The economy has gone to hell even more since the mid-terms.
Nope!
The tagline stays until DeSantis is unequivocally out of the race.
And when Trump is the GOP nominee, as in all likelihood he will be (because Trump's fanatical cult has not yet grown tired of losing), I will change my voter registration from Florida, where I maintain legal state residency, to California, where I am currently domiciled, and mail in a vote for Trump.
Yet he won in a blue-wave election.
And unlike Donnie Clot Shot, he was re-elected in a massive landslide.
DeSantis is not presidential material. He is a great governor and I hope he continues to represent the state of Florida. They need him.
The same thing happened in Wisconsin with Scott Walker. Great governor but not presidential. And politically aligned himself with the wrong people.
Voting for the gopE is a loosing strategy - More people like Chief Pirate Roberts - Obamacare does not Violate the Commerce Cause, and it is not a TAX
And these are the people who support Ronny
Current Senate Leader Mitch McConnell has a leadership group who carry out the institutional objectives
of the upper chamber as a body. They include: Senator John Thune (whip),
Senator John Barrasso (conference chair), Roy Blunt (committee chair), Todd Young (NRSC chair),
Jodi Ernst (conference vice-chair), and Chuck Grassley (president pro tempore).
None of these senators make a move publicly without approval from Leader McConnell.
In August of 2020, before the presidential election,
Senate Whip John Thune rebuked the mail-in ballot concerns
expressed by President Trump. Thune did this because ultimately
the objectives of the upper chamber were more favorably aligned
if President Trump was removed.
“Trump’s Last Rodeo”
Don the Magnificent has turned into Don Quixote.
Shall we instead look at the wonderful people Trump chose to represent him, to work in his administration? How about we poll people on them?
Or, focus on the constitutional eligibility of those who have announced, Nimarata Nikki Randhawa Haley and Vivek Ganapathy Ramaswamy?
