4am is the time to go fishing, especially if you have a boat.
better question is, what were the punks doing at 4am milling around looking to ‘do some crime’
Trying to get to the boat ramp a bit before sun up? That’s kind of normal for fishing fans.

I saw a boat on a trailer in the footage. They were probably on the way to fish or coming back from a fishing trip. I’m 80 and still do this at any hour of the day or night. I hope this explanation answers your question. The only difference is that when we do this I am heavily armed.

We seem to have plenty of cheeks left to turn.
When you see people hanging from lampposts and tree branches, signs around their necks informing of the crimes they've committed, that's when you'll know we ran out of cheeks.
We're still a long ways away.
For much of my working life I was either driving home, or driving to work, at around 4 am.
Well this senior returns fire and most likely more accurately than these animals.
Probably getting an early start for a day (or more) of fishing.

Presumably driving to wherever they planned to launch their boat. What’s your guess?
Be armed, stay armed, keep it within reach. My 9mm leaves my night stand and comes with me to my chair in the living room. It stays within reach. My wife does the same with her 38 short barrel 5 shot. I get up earlier than she does. When she gets up, pours her coffee that I made earlier, and walks through going to her playroom (her home office, sewing room, quilting room, office files, computer room) with coffee in one hand and the pistol in the other. My AR and my shotgun are within reach in the bedroom. I don’t take the chance. There has been three home invasions in our greater area over the months. Picking on older folks who are old, broken down, unable to defend theirselves. Yup, stay armed and keep em close.
