'Total radio silence': Trump's MAGA inner circle are furious at DeSantis and Nikki Haley for failing to back Trump and claim both GOP rivals are making a 'massive mistake'

Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley have been attacked by a number of Trump loyalists for failing to comment on rumors the former president will be arrested on Tuesday.

MAGA Republicans have criticized DeSantis and Haley for not speaking out against the Manhattan DA's office for what they claim is a weaponization of the justice system.

DeSantis is widely rumored to be preparing to run against Trump for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. Haley was the first to enter the race after Trump.

Jason Miller, a Trump adviser and the former CEO of right-wing free speech app Gettr noted a 'radio silence' from the two since the rumors gained momentum early on Saturday.

Heightening pressure on DeSantis was that he is the governor of Florida, the state Trump has made his home since leaving office.

Far-right social media personality Mike Cernovich suggested the governor should make it clear he would not extradite Trump from Florida without a 'proper legal review'.

'DeSantis is making his first unforced error by not denouncing this lawless act,' he said. One Twitter user pointed out that Trump had suggested that in his original Truth Social that he would be turning himself in, and that it was not an extradition case.

Ben Kew, editor-at-large of conservative news site Red State, wrote in response: 'I say this as his most fervent supporter, but Ron DeSantis is making a massive mistake by not speaking up on the Trump prosecution issue.'

Conservatives aren’t a cohesive bunch.

Especially when people like the OP get their disinformation from liberal rags.

Daily Mail is a liberal rag

Yes, but Haley and DeSantis are MIA. They both should have come out hard on without ambiguity or hesitation. Same with Linda and the rest of the elected so called Republicans.

Good point. The guy who is the object of nasty remarks is supposed to support his accuser?

another Fund Raising Scam since there are still witnesses next week .

Second , there is no indictment .
Third , what is Desantis supposed to say ?
I defend Trump rights to Pay Off a Porn Star with Hush money totaling 130,000 while his poor wife and new baby boy sat quietly at home ?

Wake up here .

IF DeSantis allows an extradition, he’ll never be elected again to any office.

That’s as certain as the day is long.

DONT THINK HE COULD STOP IT

It takes 10 seconds to send a tweet

Give it a rest. Trump is going crazy. Is he that insecure to NEED validation from a guy who’s not running at this time? So sad what became of a decent president.

Do you know the Law ?
US Governors can not stop any properly filed extradition . The Supreme Court decided this matter in 1987 .

The best way to get under Trump’s skin (and his supporters) is to ignore him. We’re seeing that now. I’m so tired of Trump, and the NY way of doing things, but at least Trump’s got me laughing.

I’m thankful he didn’t fall for trumps attempt at attention by saying he’s being arrested Tuesday. Lol. I can’t wait till Tuesday when it’s quiet except for those who will once again excuse trump as he was taken out of context. Ha! Watch!!!!

Sooo... DeSantis has been the object of relentless name-calling and back-stabbing by Trump, and he's supposed to throw a party for him?

In that situation, I'd keep my trap shut too.

Why wait?

I saw an early interview in which someone asked why he invited the Clintons to his wedding and was a pal. “I had a lot of complex plans underway in New York and I needed friends, not enemies. Being friends with them helped me open some doors for permits and permissions.”

Rodney Dangerfield in Back to School: “You got things to do as a builder on a big project you have to get the union bosses to go along and those guys aren’t exactly boy scouts, you know.”

Nobody in their right mind would do, at this point, anything but keep a lid on it until there is something legitimate to react to. DeSantis has no idea what the hell is going on here at this point.

McCarthy’s and Rick Scott’s statements yesterday were clear and unequivocal. I was especially surprised that Scott mentioned Soros:

McCarthy accused Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg of “an outrageous abuse of power” and of “pursu[ing] political vengeance against President Trump” in a tweet posted Saturday morning.

“I’m directing relevant committees to immediately investigate if federal funds are being used to subvert our democracy by interfering in elections with politically motivated prosecutions,” McCarthy said. Leading GOP hardliners in the House, including Reps. Chip Roy (R-Texas) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), signaled support for the probe.

“[McCarthy] is right, and I fully support his call for an investigation,” tweeted Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.). “No federal dollars should be used to prop up this radical, Soros-backed activist attorney or his gross political attacks.”

Whether DeSantis wants to comment or not is his decision, of course, but when the Speaker of the House and the Republican Senator of his own state take a stand, the uneasiness over DeSantis’s silence is understandable, I think.

And the issue is larger than Trump, anyway. It’s about the radical Left using the color of authority to demonize its opponents, or prospective opponents.

EVERY Republican (or even moderate Democrat) officeholder should face the fact that if the Left can get away with doing this to Donald Trump, they can do it to anyone of them. ANYONE OF THEM. And they would, in a second.

Trump got more votes that ANY GOP Presidental Candidate in History.
Apparently, voters did not hold his donation to Bill and Hillary Clinton
against him.
