Daily Mail is a liberal rag
Yes, but Haley and DeSantis are MIA. They both should have come out hard on without ambiguity or hesitation. Same with Linda and the rest of the elected so called Republicans.
McCarthy’s and Rick Scott’s statements yesterday were clear and unequivocal. I was especially surprised that Scott mentioned Soros:
McCarthy accused Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg of “an outrageous abuse of power” and of “pursu[ing] political vengeance against President Trump” in a tweet posted Saturday morning.
“I’m directing relevant committees to immediately investigate if federal funds are being used to subvert our democracy by interfering in elections with politically motivated prosecutions,” McCarthy said. Leading GOP hardliners in the House, including Reps. Chip Roy (R-Texas) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), signaled support for the probe.
“[McCarthy] is right, and I fully support his call for an investigation,” tweeted Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.). “No federal dollars should be used to prop up this radical, Soros-backed activist attorney or his gross political attacks.”
Whether DeSantis wants to comment or not is his decision, of course, but when the Speaker of the House and the Republican Senator of his own state take a stand, the uneasiness over DeSantis’s silence is understandable, I think.
And the issue is larger than Trump, anyway. It’s about the radical Left using the color of authority to demonize its opponents, or prospective opponents.
EVERY Republican (or even moderate Democrat) officeholder should face the fact that if the Left can get away with doing this to Donald Trump, they can do it to anyone of them. ANYONE OF THEM. And they would, in a second.
“Yes, but Haley and DeSantis are MIA. “
DeSantis has a responsibility as governor to make appropriate statements as things unfold, not make them t satisfy social media drama queens.
If NY State sends an extradition request, then he has the responsibility to make a decision and a public statement.
