Michael Cohen, a former personal attorney for Donald Trump, said Sunday on MSNBC’s “Alex Witt Reports” that prosecutors from the Manhattan district attorney’s office convening a grand jury as part of a criminal probe into a 2016 hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels have asked him to come in Monday “as rebuttal witness.”
Cohen said, “This morning, I did receive a whole slew of phone calls from journalists, asking me if I’m going to be back to the DA’s office tomorrow as a rebuttal witness to whoever it is that they’re bringing there tomorrow. Whether it’s before the grand jury or it’s just to meet with them for an interview, I’m not sure, but yes, I was asked to make myself available and to be at the DA’s office tomorrow as a rebuttal witness.”

A rebuttal witness? The Grand Jury questioning of witnesses is controlled by the Prosecutors, it is not an adversarial process.
The only explanation would be if Trump is going to testify, and the DA wants to have Cohen on hand to tell more lies in order to frame Trump. If not Trump it could be someone friendly to Trump that Cohen will rebut, but why would the DA call such a person? The prosecution is under no obligation to present both sides of the story, they just have to present enough evidence to get an indictment.

I call BS. Rebuttal witness? To rebut what? A grand jury only has witnesses and testimony that the PROSECUTOR wants. There is no defense attorney and no defense witnesses.🤦🏼🤦🏼
Cohen was disbarred and sent to prison. He did about 2 years and sent home because of Covid. How is he believable??
