Navy secretary cited climate change as top priority as Biden proposes shrinking the fleet

Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro said he sees fighting climate change as a top priority for the Navy as the Biden administration proposes shrinking the fleet by two ships and worries grow about how the U.S. Navy stacks up to China’s.

"As the Secretary of the Navy, I can tell you that I have made climate one of my top priorities since the first day I came into office," Del Toro said March 1 in remarks at the University of the Bahamas.

Del Toro said he met with Bahamas Prime Minister Philip Davis during his visit and spoke "at length" with him about the climate crisis and focused the bulk of his remarks on climate.

"The U.S. Navy and Marine Corps team has been working on climate and energy security for a long time," he said. "And we are accelerating and broadening those efforts."

"We view the climate crisis much the same way as damage control efforts on a stricken ship. This is an all-hands-on-deck moment," he added.

Del Toro spoke just days before the Biden administration released its proposed budget for 2024, which calls for shrinking the Navy fleet even though most military experts and senior Navy officers have called for more ships to deter China's larger fleet.

For several years now, the Navy has set a goal of having 355 manned ships. But, for the last three years, the Biden administration has proposed shrinking the fleet below the roughly 298 ships it has available now, instead of increasing it toward a 355-ship goal.

“”The U.S. Navy and Marine Corps team has been working on climate and energy security for a long time,””

I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume that means the “desk jockeys” and not the REAL NAVY AND U.S.M.C....

I bet those guys/gals would have a different take on the subject. At least, I would hope so!! Unless they’ve somehow managed to brainwash the troops too!

I really feel for my children and grandchildren in what is rapidly coming for the USA...I hate they won’t have the opportunities that us old folks had when we were young...

It does seem as though the younger people of today don’t realize or just don’t care what is happening to our country and seem willing to just accept whatever comes along...

It’s truly pitiful......

biden, who abandoned Afghanistan to the taliban, and who let them take $85 billion worth of munitions, is hell bent on destroying our military. How much money will the chicoms give him for that?

(The current administration has apparently solved the latter problem by placing malcontents in EVERY position.)

“Hitler found out otherwise.”

It depends on what you consider strength. Unlike today’s push button wars, their war WWII was more basic in its movement.

Germany had four key fatal weaknesses in the Second World War. These were: the lack of productivity of its war economy, the weak supply lines, the start of a war on two fronts, and the lack of strong leadership. Following the invasion of the Soviet Union, using the Blitzkrieg tactic, the German Army marched far into Russia. However, they did so on very slow, overextended, supply lines. These supply lines hindered the German advance, and eventually led to a huge lack of supplies on the front line. This, alongside key Soviet advances, contributed to the German retreat. So the real power was not in bang, bang, but food, and fuel.

Another world war will now fall into the category of cataclysmic destruction and not just taking up landscape. In 1939, no one had the capacity to destroy so much to include the whole planet. Russia/Ukraine is small potatoes in comparison.

After World War II, nuclear weapons were also developed by the Soviet Union (1949), the United Kingdom (1952), France (1960), and the People’s Republic of China (1964), which contributed to the state of conflict and extreme tension that became the Cold War. In 1974, India, and in 1998, Pakistan, two countries that were openly hostile toward each other, developed nuclear weapons. Israel (1960s) and North Korea (2006) have also developed stocks of nuclear weapons, though it is not known how many. The Israeli government has never admitted nor denied having nuclear weapons, although it is known to have constructed the reactor and reprocessing plants necessary for building nuclear weapons many years ago. South Africa also manufactured several complete nuclear weapons in the 1980s. They were coming out of the wood work.

There are a lot of crazy people in control of many devices that could stupidly launch and cause the domino effect of reaction. Because of this the theory has changed more toward nuclear terrorism rather than declared clarified war. As of 2019, there are 15,000 nuclear weapons on planet Earth (admitted). It would take just three nuclear warheads to destroy one of the 4,500 cities on Earth, meaning 13,500 bombs in total, which would leave 1,500 left. But the reaction to the three fired will be the telling factor.

It was determined at Los Alamos years ago that it would take less than 100 super nukes to end humanity. Which leads one to ask, just how many of the weapons are scattered around and controlled by people who give it no forethought will be launched. And this includes the mental midgets in control of the US at this point. And if you combat the rest of the world into one military force against it, it would make no difference. And the same mental midgets would be just as dead as everyone else.

The Climate BS is everything for the rats, the key to everything. It is a bigger blank check than racism. They will use it to control everything we do and inflict misery on all of us.

As the chicoms rapidly expand their, already the globe's largest, naval forces, our communist rulers are accelerating the rate at which this country prepares for waving a white flag in any future war with China and North Korea...
