If I remember correctly, Geffen was in a nightclub with Cher and Greg Allman walked in and Cher walked out on Geffen with Greg which ultimately led to her marrying Greg. Which was a short lived disaster, and Geffen was furious over the embarrassment of being dumped publicly by Cher .
