"I am going to pursue — and we studied it very closely and I was getting ready to do it, pull the trigger — the long-term goal, but now it's a short-term goal, of breaking up the federal Department of Education and redistributing its functions to the states."

That was in Davenport, Iowa, last night, following an appearance by Ron DeSantis in the key primary battleground state.

All of these 3 letter agencies need to be broken up and stopped from writing and imposing their own laws and rules.

FBI and CIA are criminal enterprises working for a global cabal.

Trump should continue with many other Fed Departments and turn the Country around. Unfortunately the Dems are going to leave office with the Country in shambles before the 24 election.

“Yes I know Dems and neo-cons fought him but won’t that be true this time as well?”

I think McCarthy is better than Ryan. I can see the Wall being completed if Trump is reelected.

Cut it out. We all know how Trump was treated and it was bad. Much of it done and created by these criminal alphabet agencies working for RATS and RINOs.

You think those very same people are going to cooperate with anyone that isn’t a neocon, RINO, RAT elitist?

> education. Federal AND state departments of education need to be shuttered and completely defunded like most of government. <

I agree, with one small exception. States should set academic standards. That way failing school districts can be identified as failing school districts.

You don’t need a huge state department of education to do that. A few experts (like math professors for the math standards) should be enough.

However, do not let anyone with an education degree anywhere near the process. Those folks are toxic.

Please DO NOT distribute the responsibility to states!

Just disband it!

Commie Governors don't need any more authority.

No.

That would not make more sense. It cannot be weakened, that’s only temporary. It must be utterly and entirely abolished and eradicated in its full entirety.

Trump says he will "break up the Department of Education and redistribute its functions to the states" if elected.

"Breaking up" is not want is needed. You don't "break up" a cancer because its nature is to grown back. The goal should be to remove" - to "totally eliminate" cancer.

The federal government has grown to a point where no one knows exactly how many agencies it operates, let alone Congress having real oversight over these agencies being run by unelected politicized bureaucrats. If you scroll through this Wiki list (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_federal_agencies_in_the_United_States) you will have some idea of how insanely large the federal bureaucratic state has become.

If we had true conservative leadership in DC, our Congress would permanently shutter the vase majority of agencies and bureaucracies w/in the federal government and also do the same for a number of federal department.

If we have true conservative leadership in DC, the states would be given the responsibility/option to maintain state level bureaucracies, which were eliminated at federal level. E.g., Mining, Education, Labor etc ....

Sadly, there are few true conservatives in government willing to shrink the federal bureacratic state. Unless "breaking up" means "eliminate", the cancer we call the federal bureaucratic state will continue and likely grown larger.

Like many of us here, I’ve been saying to break it up for years. It is long overdue.

He needs congressional legislation to end the Dept of Ed and this needs to be done in coordination with state legislature. State Ed departments are just as bad.

Easy to eliminate

Wrong.

Impossible to eliminate.

Created by Act of Congress, cannot be eliminated other than by act of Congress. Not within the scope of Presidential power.

Education, through their friends the teacher unions, are one of Congress's major bribe factories, which Congress will never, never, NEVER surrender.

Congress is more likely to dissolve the Department of Defense than they are the Department of Education.
