There’s a hell of a lot more “breakfast tacos” sneaking in than 6.5 million.

Well, 5 million illegal aliens can’t stay in tax payer funded hotels forever.

And all of those illegals have to have a place to live, food to eat, medical problems to be dealt with, and kids to educate. In many places emergency rooms are pretty much for illegals’ use only for anything short of a heart attack.

No one seems overly interested in totaling the bill for what each of the millions of illegals are costing the American taxpayer.

HOw much of that is because of the unlimited immigrant invasion Biden is allowing?

I should have said all large cities (over 250K population) are blue. I think Fort Worth has a GOP Mayor of sorts though.

Pruitt Igoe (sp) looked good from the outside but became a holding pen for social dysfunction. Have to give credit to Newark and Jersey City for knocking the high rises down and building new lowrise construction. Ultimately it isn’t the building - it’s who inhabits the building. However, it the alternative is allowing the urban poor to build their own shanty towns I am willing to let my tax dollars fund public housing.

Location location location

My area has experienced massive growth. City population was around 8,400 in 2006 and it now in the vicinity of 25,000.

There does seem to be a slight slow-down in buying and some price drops, but few are even on the market two months. Older house prices are 2 to 3 times higher than what the house sold for just 4 or 5 years ago.

...I am willing to let my tax dollars fund public housing...

Let me give you a different perspective on this.

I have been retired for 16 years. Maybe 40 years ago I did my own due diligence and identified housing as a likely area for investment. So I put my own money into this area. Worked it like a dog, sacrificed , spent countless hours managing, repairing, etc.

I was right, and am now a small time landlord having put my money at risk, and worked. And now the government takes money from me in taxes and uses that money to go into competition with me, driving prices down. All the while using money it has taken from me at gunpoint to constantly cover the losses from their incompetent management.

Sure sounds like fair competition doesn't it.

Just like Pruitt-Igoe in St. Louis.
* Constructed 1951-1955
* Unlivable by the early 60s
* Demolished 1972-1976.

Less than TWENTY years of life out of the buildings. We moved to the western St. Louis suburbs in 1966 and, even as a new teen driver, I knew you didn’t go anywhere near that part of town.

“let my tax dollars fund public housing.” That’s a nice sentiment, but show me ONE place where it has worked.

Tenements and slumlords are bad, yes. But are they any worse than public housing?

We’ve spent over 25 TRILLION in the past 60 years on Great Society programs and what do we have to show for it? A permanent underclass that absolutely HATES the hand that feeds it and that has grown to immense power.

The United States is not building enough homes to account for the number of people setting up their own households foreigners Democrats are importing to maintain their power.

Agree. However, all I see in my suburb of the Nashville, TN is more MEGA apartment complexes under construction. These invaders live off us. Most get section 8a housing, add food stamps, etc. I know of one 100% combat disabled Veteran who pays 1K a month for a one-bedroom apartment. I read or hear all the anti-Trump BS. Trump had prices under control. He was no climate control idiot. In my 75 years no season has ever been the same. Global warming is BS.

The “Great Society”

I certainly hope LBJ is burning in hell.

Free homes aren’t valued by the inhabitants - they just clamor for more and more and get indignant when they don’t get it.

Gots to get paid...

5 million illegals a year is good for a lot of businesses. I wonder how many Airbnb houses are being rented out for the invaders?

There are lots of homes for sale in my Upstate NY neck of the woods.

Wrecks that are going for under 200 K and will cost a mint to fix up.

And 300, 400, 500 K and up spreads that nobody wants to buy cuz they’re in NYS, and come with YUGE property tax bill.

You might want to view some of the “Honest Adverts” videos on YTube. They feature corrupt Australian gov’mt practices. One is how they (both parties) backed living changes that disadvantaged building houses and encouraged rentals. Why? Because over half of the Legislature creeps were deep into rental properties. Everything they did made their investments pay off.

A tag line of the commercials is “F** You!”.

This is sorta like how CaCaLand politicos have investments in China and relatives pushing nanny state crappola — like plastic bag bans. Feinstein and Pelosi are deep into this.

“Until then save your money and hunker down.”

That’s always my plan when the Socialist Democrats are in charge. I spend little; gas, food, heating & electricity MORE than eat up the budget these days!

I refuse to contribute any further to a Socialist Democrat purposefully destroyed economy.

It’s a VERY different situation downstate - bidding wars and lack of inventory to buy.

NOT happening in my part of the world. More people looking for less housing causing bidding on any turnkey single family home. Still hoping things will level off with an economic downturn finally arriving in the next year or so.
